An 8-year-old student at Victory Christian Academy in Jacksonville, Florida, was "administratively withdrawn" from school after her parents objected to a homework assignment instructing second-graders to “send picture of you doing reading homework in bathtub,” reported parents Misty and Christopher Dunham.
Christopher told CBS-47 that he and his wife were shocked when their 8-year-old said she needed to send a picture of herself in the bathtub doing her reading homework to her second-grade teacher.
"I emailed the teacher [to say] 'Hey, you may want to explain that. Send something out to the parents. Let them know what the intentions are.' This just does not sound OK," Misty explained.
Though the teacher responded by adding that students could "be in pajamas, be in your uniform, have fun with it," something about the assignment still "didn’t sit right," Misty explained. So she reached out to the school administrators, who claimed that “we have been sending this homework assignment for years, and you’re the only one complaining about it."
Soon after, a school administrator called to encourage the Dunhams to "do a parental withdrawal for the child."
When Misty refused to withdraw her daughter, the administrator said the school was "going to proceed with an administration withdraw.
"CBS-47 reported that school documentation indicates that the Dunhams' daughter is "no longer a student at Victory Christian Academy.
"On "The News & Why It Matters," BlazeTV host Sara Gonzales and guests Matthew Marsden, Tayler Hansen, and John Doyle discussed the strange homework assignment and the Christian school's draconian reaction when parents raised objections.
"Just because they say it's a Christian academy doesn't mean that it is," Marsden warned. "You don't do this

OMG!!~!~! You must have had MANY traumatic events!!! You think this is to see who has the NICEST bathtub??
Don’t call the school. This sounds like troublemaker parents looking to cash in by spinning a creativity assignment as something inappropriate.
If the school was getting a shakedown, they were smart to expell the parents.
If you want to be a phone activist, there are plenty of government schools guilty of real child abuse.
I just don’t see the point of taking a picture in a bathtub. What is that teaching?
water is wet......maybe
People are falling for the anti-Christian bait. This is nothing like the secret grooming and abuse we see so much of in government schools. The state media is trying to convert a government scandal into a religious scandal.
To me this stinks to high heaven, especially considering what is going on in public schools. If the school is too stupid to realize the terrible optics of this, then shame on them.
Exactly! I don’t have kids, but I can’t imagine some dad somewhere not taking out one of these loons or pervs.
Even if no harm was intended, whoever made that assignment must have been from another planet not to have seen the trouble it would cause.
Even making the heroic assumption that the teacher isn't a pervert, why would parents want someone so obviously clueless to be teaching their children? Any thinking person would realize that this is creepy.
There are a lot of perverts claiming to be Christians. They are proclaiming judgment upon themselves
Wow, what an obtuse reply!
Exactly how many eight year olds associate the bathtub with pajamas on?
...please tell us you simply forgot the sarcasm tag
“This assignment just doesn’t bother me. “
Does it bother you that the kid was kicked out of school because the kid’s parents complained about it and then refused to withdraw their kid from the school at the request of the school?
with younger kids a lot of times schools will do weird things to make schooling fun ....bath tub thing is just stupid
Yeah that is just not right. Our Christian school asks permission for things like vaccines and would never ever go against a parent’s wish.
True, but still it’s an odd request. Why would a Christian school remove a student merely because a parent questioned the assignment. Seems bit over-reactive.
Just like the media doesn’t find anything odd about Biden and little kids with his hands, mouth, sniffing. Kids aren’t naked and he’s not actively fondling them but it still is creepy.
Victory Academy is not listed as a Baptist school - so exactly is behind this school and its curricula?
They’ve been doing this for years? How many pics have they collected? A FIB raid may be in order.
There are no lines anymore, Ann Archy. We all need to start restoring some!
