Biden admin quietly warned Putin for months about consequences over nuke use
The Washington Post ^ | September 22, 2022 | Paul Sonne and John Hudson

The United States for several months has been sending private communications to Moscow warning Russia’s leadership of the grave consequences that would follow the use of a nuclear weapon, according to U.S. officials, who said the messages underscore what President Biden and his aides have articulated publicly.

The Biden administration generally has decided to keep warnings about the consequences of a nuclear strike deliberately vague, so the Kremlin worries about how Washington might respond, the officials said, speaking on the condition of anonymity to describe sensitive deliberations.

The attempt by the White House to cultivate what’s known in the nuclear deterrence world as “strategic ambiguity” comes as Russia continues to escalate its rhetoric about possible nuclear weapons use amid a domestic mobilization aimed at stanching Russian military losses in eastern Ukraine.

The State Department has been involved in the private communications with Moscow, but officials would not say who delivered the messages or the scope of their content. It was not clear whether the United States had sent any new private messages in the hours since Russian President Vladimir Putin issued his latest veiled nuclear threat during a speech announcing a partial mobilization early Wednesday, but a senior U.S. official said the communication has been happening consistently over recent months.

“Defensive threat” against what? Let him have Ukraine and all the other former Soviet states, as well as any other territory with Russian speakers, or else?

Right. And the Russian Black Hole sub launches from offshore USA and gives the USA eastern cities just a few short minutes to prepare for oblivion.

The Zircon missile travels at around mach 9, can travel around 600 miles and we do not know at this time if they have made it nuclear capable yet or not. At this time, there is no reliable defense against it.

So when do we roll the dice with your pig faced son of a bitch buddy at the helm of this country.

No, that was a lie. Never happened.

Odd because there were about five thousand news articles in April about peace and then the US started passing multi billion dollar aid and weapons packages it just prolonged the killing

Peac in Ukraine's time

I suppose it's all lies

The Biden and Klaus Schwab group seems to be willing to risk nuclear war to finish off Conservative Russia so that the WEF culture has zero credible enemies. Then Klaus et. al. can screw the world.

With SOOOOO much bogus information camouflaging real truth, I must default to the enemy of my enemy is my friend. I think we will all regret the day Putin and Russia were defeated, if we are still around.

Klaus and the 4th Reich won’t care if you and your families are incinerated. Saved him the trouble.

All sourced back to a single Foreign Policy article that was cherry-picked from a single edited passage taken out of context of the entire article at large, even though it was harshly critical of Putin.

Here's the entire passage in question, Comrade, for your amusement:

Despite calls by some for a negotiated settlement that would involve Ukrainian territorial concessions, Putin seems uninterested in a compromise that would leave Ukraine as a sovereign, independent state—whatever its borders. According to multiple former senior U.S. officials we spoke with, in April 2022, Russian and Ukrainian negotiators appeared to have tentatively agreed on the outlines of a negotiated interim settlement: Russia would withdraw to its position on February 23, when it controlled part of the Donbas region and all of Crimea, and in exchange, Ukraine would promise not to seek NATO membership and instead receive security guarantees from a number of countries. But as Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated in a July interview with his country’s state media, this compromise is no longer an option. Even giving Russia all of the Donbas is not enough. “Now the geography is different,” Lavrov asserted, in describing Russia’s short-term military aims. “It’s also Kherson and the Zaporizhzhya regions and a number of other territories.” The goal is not negotiation, but Ukrainian capitulation.

So yes, it's all lies.

I spend some time around nuclear deterrent and know that a limited Russian strike involving just two platforms on both coasts is expected to inflict 64 million casualties. The all-out US strike is not going to hurt as many Russians.

You'll find that many [but not all!] of these Ukraine supporters have a dodgy history from 2016 when it comes to Trump.

We have to remember that Trump put the kibosh on their favorite sport - military adventurism and regime change.

The one you're discussing things with here got so angry that he had to "take a little FR sabbatical"...

And Dementia Joe and Boris Johnson effectively killed a budding peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia back in April, because apparently Dementia Joe wanted to “punish” the Russians for “helping Trump win” in 2016.
Tucker spent some time on that tonight.

Russia is in a vastly better position to survive a nuclear war than America is.

The talking point right now is “Putin Nuclear Threat” to deflect from “US Bullying Russia To Join New World Order” which is what’s really going on IMHO.

Anything Putin says is in response to the US attempt to get Russian compliance with the World System of the Schwab’s-Soros’s Whoever.
