AOC was an Puerto Rica pro-Cuban Independentistas before she became a member of Congress. I spent a number of years in Puerto Rico years ago and have Puerto Rica friends, but I think we should have cut them off 60 to 70 years ago and considered them as a friendly foreign nation as long as they were. Now we got them hanging on our tit like AOC and her constituency. I really hope they are not damaged by Hurricane Fiona. Living in the tropics has it’s ups and downs.

A few years ago I heard nearby Dems (young ones) saying every GOP governor, senator and TV guest speaker was “a fascist.”
I said “You’d better stop saying that because not only is it false but it dilutes the power of your language. When the real fascists arrive what term will be more powerful and damaging for them if you wasted it on all those false ones.?”
In the Beat Generation days the poets tried to be strong and shocking by putting words in all caps. Then more words had to be in caps. Finally some poetry books by Michael McClure had 90% all caps. The power was diluted.
