Former Trump White House lawyer Ty Cobb called ex-President Donald Trump a “deeply wounded narcissist” who acted in a “criminal” manner when he pushed then-Vice President Mike Pence to block Congress from certifying President Joe Biden’s 2020 election win.
In a new interview, Cobb also said Trump’s conduct on Jan. 6, 2021, while a mob of his supporters attacked the U.S. Capitol, could — at least theoretically — lead to him being barred from seeking the presidency.
“There is a simple way to disqualify President Trump,” Cobb told CBS News chief Washington correspondent Major Garrett in an interview on “The Takeout” podcast.
“He clearly violated the 14th Amendment of the Constitution’s Article III when he gave aid and comfort and three hours of inaction with regard to what was happening on the grounds of the Capitol,” he said.
“That clearly gave aid and comfort to the insurrectionists,” said Cobb, who added that a joint declaration by both chambers of Congress could on those grounds block Trump from being able to regain the White House.

yes indeed.
That has happened even in honest elections. Something crooked did happen, but that's not a very good argument.
Sounds subjective, meaning political rather than lawful.
He uses all the right Democrat buzz words. They must have made him a deal.
“Any direction he turned, there was somebody with a knife out behind him. And every last SOB of them had the same characteristic: Flashy veneer, glib liar, and the MSM loves ‘em.”
Doesn’t inspire confidence in Trump’s ability to staff a future administration.
Trump thought he was getting voted into the club, and all he had to do was hand out cabinet positions to the usual suspects and it would largely be business as usual except for the direction he wanted to take the country which actually aligns with what Republicans say they believe.
He found out (?) the hard way that most of the beltway set is loyal to power, the media, their own lucre, anything but the country, the people, or any recognizable American principle.

Another obstacle to staffing any future Repub administration (but especially a Trump Admin) is the millions of dollars in legal fees it costs to fight the subpoenas, lawsuits, and BS lawfare attacks by the Left. Not many people are willing or ABLE to pay those legal bills.
Bigger Picture: Is the FBI threatening people such as him to make such statements or else be persecuted?
Ask him to identify the alleged crime and the evidence.
A Romans Chapter 1 type reprobate? 😀
So. Ty Cobb undoubtedly has a book in the works and is prepping the publicity tour.
“This is silly stuff, that taking 3 hours to act somehow makes you complicit in events.”
Roll the clock back. Remember Benghazi. Obama and Hillary were “unavailable” to authorize a military raid to save the ambassador and others? By the standard Cobb is proclaiming weren’t Obama and Hillary complicit in the Benghazi deaths?
Somehow seems to fit.
In law school I observed that a majority of students had huge and fragile egos that were combined with unresolved bitterness from being picked on as kids. Generally just nasty people. There is a reason I’ve kept in contact with only one other person from that time.
Insurrectionists as apposed to peaceful protesters across the nation that burned down cities looted and murder a cute word the Marxists love to use.
What have the RATs got on Cobb? Must be substantial.
Engedi said: however, Trump didn’t issue any statement for 3 hours while the rioting was going on at the Capital.
So, who is right? I am assuming each of you believes you are being truthful.

I would like to know how it’s possible that a former lawyer of President Trump could say negative and/or harmful things about a client without violating attorney-client privilege. That may not be the exact case here, but it seems there’s a lot of it going on and I don’t understand.
That privilege doesn’t just disappear when the attorney’s job is over.
