Ukrainian Officials Drew on U.S. Intelligence to Plan Counteroffensive
The New York Times ^ | September 10, 2022 | Julian E. Barnes and Helene Cooper

Posted on 09/10/2022 5:49:27 PM PDT by Timber Rattler

Senior Ukrainian officials stepped up intelligence sharing with their American counterparts over the summer as they began to plan the counteroffensive that allowed them to make dramatic gains in the northeast in recent days, a shift that allowed the United States to provide better and more relevant information about Russian weaknesses, according to American officials.

Throughout the war, the United States has provided Ukraine with information on command posts, ammunition depots and other key nodes in the Russian military lines. Such real-time intelligence has allowed the Ukrainians — who U.S. officials acknowledge have played the decisive role in planning and execution — to target Russian forces, kill senior generals and force ammunition supplies to be moved farther from the Russian front lines.

But earlier on, American intelligence officials said they often had a better understanding of Russia’s military plans than of Ukraine’s. Concerned that sharing their operational plans could highlight weaknesses and discourage continued American support, the Ukrainians were closely guarding their operational plans even as American intelligence was gathering precise details on what the Kremlin was ordering and Russian commanders were planning.

But as Ukraine laid its plans to strike back against the Russians, senior leaders in Kyiv decided that sharing more information with the United States would help secure more assistance, American officials said.

Senior U.S. officials declined to say how much details from the counteroffensive plan Ukraine had shared and how much advice the United States had offered. But one official said Americans had “constantly” discussed with Kyiv ways that Ukraine could blunt the Russian advance in the country’s east.

1D Checkers.

Is Q not posting tonight or something.

Ukraine is in flux right now and is not controlled by anybody.

Biden doesn’t even control his own bodily functions. Blinken is an incompetent idiot. Biden’s Deep state” is a bunch of clueless clowns that F-up everything they touch.

Again, when mega chad Ukraine alpha comes back from the front and a state department weenie starts telling him the proper pronouns he has to use, he’ll point the AK-74 at him and calmly say, “no”.

Ukraine’s Covid Vaccination rate is less than 40%. People Pushing Globalist solutions to their problems are going to receive considerably pushback. They are the type of people we can work with.

...so, you have lost your mind.

thanks for responding.

It’s very possible the Russians are still very good at strategic intelligence, but they suck at tactical and operational-level intelligence because they have not exercised it in a protracted conflict since.......Afghanistan.

And there is nothing intelligence can cover up when leadership has made bad assumptions.

An Effective Strategy involves thinking “what will happen next?”, being proactive and isn’t being reactive.

Losers are reactive and obsess about what has already happened.

Ukraine has happened. You and I didn’t really do anything to cause it, but we can push proactive ideas that maybe can keep it from happening again.

Blaming things on “the other guy” and pointing saying “look Look” is loser think.,,and how many times have we wished Republicans “did something” instead of going on Hannity telling people they were “going to get to the bottom of X”.

Offering proactive solutions is what winners do.

1) Reframe Ukraine as a Russian Quagmire - because it OBVIOUSLY is one.

2) Support the Nationalist, gun toting Ukrainians fighting an Oligarch dictator, offering them one party rule because THEY ARE NOT “fighting for the deep state” or “george Soros” or “Globalism”, they think they are fighting for their freedom.

3) When the war is over, and they win, those Nationalist will be your ally fighting the deep state Globaist nationalists... but if they lose, they will be disarmed and ripe for the Globalist picking.

Democrats won’t let a crisis go to waste. Why should we?

4D chess and not 1D checkers.

” THEY ARE NOT “fighting for the deep state” or “george Soros” or “Globalism”, they think they are fighting for their freedom. “

Exactly so. Like the Poles and other Eastern Europeans, these people certainly aren’t on board with the Western cultural malaise. They are natural allies, but the “Soros, soros” lot want to just throw them away. The world is multidimensional.

” THEY ARE NOT “fighting for the deep state” or “george Soros” or “Globalism”, they think they are fighting for their freedom. “

so when biden commits us troops to fight in ukrane, we won't be fighting for the deep state.

right

this will never happen

"Never" is pretty definitave.

Have you noticed the lack of Pro Putin, Pro Russia posts on FR in the last few days?

What do you know that all of the Pro Putin, Pro Russia types of FR don't know?

You aren't striking me as someone with a lot of knowledge on the whole Ukraine situation.

Is it the old "gut feeling" thing? Biden is bad, Biden & Family made deals in Ukraine, therefore Ukraine is bad?

I can't argue with that logic, because there isn't any.

Ukraine is doing fine fighting Russsia with No NATO boots on the ground in Ukraine.

There is Zero reason for Biden to send troops to fight in Ukraine and it would be political suicide if he did.

Russia is Retreating from Ukranians, not NATO.

If Putin was fighting a conventional war with NATO he would have lost 6 months ago.

They conveniently forget how the Soviets gave satellite info to the NVA? (Among many other things.)

Or how the Soviets got U.S. POW's from Vietnam. That wasn't disclosed until the USSR collapsed and Yeltsin was Russia's president.

you strike me as a person easily mislead by the media, much like FR was in the early days of the chinee flu.

That would not be me.

When I was told I'd lose my $170K/year job unless I was vaccinated, I told them they are going to have to fire me.

Sure I had a house payments and a family to support, but I also have principles

I had Covid in 2020, had antibodies, still have antibodies. and getting vaccinated would have been "unscientific".

Being unvaccinated, I'm required by my employer to be tested every week since the Biden Mandate and have never tested positive (though I go into work every weekday in a major US metroplex and interact with over 50 people daily)

I have been on Covid since mid Jan 20, because I had people in Milan and Munich - the first European outbreaks (before there were any Known US cases in the wild).

I've watched nearly every Gain of Function Seminar video from 2014 (me and only 616 other people, per YT) where Ralph Baric is telling people that a Coronavirus lab leak is highly unlikely, because Mice and Ferrets don't spread the virus to Humans very easily.

Of Course he didn't tell anyone in 2014 he was working on Transgenic mice with Humanized ACE2 receptors in their Lung cells that could Catch and spread Human Corona Virus. (He released a paper detailing this in 2016)

He gave breeding pairs to these Magic Mice to the WIV between late 2018 and mid 2019. (Because they released a paper early in 2020 where broods of mice bred at the WIV we used in the research and this takes multiple 8 week generations)

But I'm sure you've heard all this and I'm just telling you what you already know.

People are being "mislead" by Scott Ritter or "moons of Alabama" or "Q". A lot of this is just made up speculation using conventional wisdom (we ALL know Biden is a tool of the deep state and the WEF - Duh), while some of it is paid propaganda. If someone tells me something, my first instinct is to not believe it until I can verify at least some part of it.

But you're proably right, I probably watch too much FOX news and believe their big pharma sponsored controlled opposition... oh wait, I don't watch TV news.

22 re Soviet BLoc weapons in Nam. It was their long range artillery, better than our 155s or the few 175mm arty we used there, that made the difference in the 1975 final offensive. Also we didn’t give the VNAF enough replacement aircraft, esp. F5s and Spookies, to make a major impact.

I think he is going to owe me a Dollar, too.

I said I’d Wager $1 Putin would own less ground in UKraine when the war was over, than when I made the wager back in August.

Very few Putin is our lord/savior types took the bet.

Our Weapons, Ms. Sheehan. Our weapons.

The weapons we give to our allies.

So they get addicted to them like crack, and order more

This is America, not some hippy drum circle commune, Cindy. The world is a dangerous place.

Our weapons make the it LESS dangerous.
