Elite medical schools are deliberately recruiting woke activists, jeopardizing their mission of training physicians.
That’s what our organization found in a review of the application process for America’s top 50 medical schools. Nearly three-quarters of these institutions — and 80% of the top 10 — ask applicants about their views on diversity, equity, inclusion, anti-racism and other politicized concepts. The clear goal is to find the students who will best advance divisive ideology, not provide the best care to patients.
We based our review on the 2023 “Best Medical Schools” rankings by US News and World Report. We then looked at the secondary essay questions each school asks applicants, using a database compiled by Prospective Doctor. (Despite the name, secondary questions play a primary role in each institution’s selection process.)
Many schools explicitly ask applicants if they agree with statements about racial politics. Others gauge applicants’ views on or experience with woke concepts.

And it’s not just students. Many schools are also moving to require that professors be woke, as well.

Medical schools are rushing down a dangerous road. These institutions have long lowered application and educational standards in the name of diversity; now they are enacting an ideological litmus test for future physicians.
Recruiting woke activists instead of the most qualified candidates will both undermine trust in health care and lead to worse health outcomes for patients. That’s the last thing medical schools should do.

What the country will end up with is more KILLER KING HOSPITALS.....The patient that finally closed them down was Edith Isabel Rodriguez....They left her on the floor ,writhing in pain ,then called the cops on her to drag her off to jail...She had a heart attack on the way to the cop car..... They dragged her(literally) back to the waiting room where she died....

I have been reliably informed that the North Carolina Board of Medical Examiners has removed one entire section of the “Exam” because the fail rate was “too high”.
Uh, yeah…so this has been the trend for the past decade and REALLY became ramped up in the past five years.
It’s not just seeking the most activist leftist thinker either for admissions.

The foundation was put in place decades ago trying to make “fair” by giving preference to females and darker skin shades.
Many of these medical schools have been patted on the back by lawmakers for their “admissions” process. Sick.
Duke and Wake Forest (Woke Forest) are both located in North Carolina. Seeing their idealism being ever present and marketed over the past decade, it doesn’t surprise me the state board testing would be lowered.

Lard-asses don't live long regardless of how much is spent on healthcare. And because they are unhealthy, they spend a lot of their time in the waiting room...sitting.;-)
I don’t understand the graph. The countries’ other than USA don’t have years shown on the graph.
Take Israel. It shows about $500 per year will get you to 70. About $2500 will get you to 82. What sense does that make?
The USA red line, with years show, makes sense.
I don’t even have to ask if Harvard Medical School...where I worked for 25 years...is on the list.
Glad I am 78 and not 28. I do not understand how someone can justify turning down a highly qualified candidate because of their race so they can accept a lower qualified candidate because of their race.
Even kindergartens and elementary schools are preaching and teaching gender fluidity and gay sex. If the Left can extend its reach past caring parents and into the minds of delicate children, it can damn sure insert itself into medical schools.
How difficult is it for the future doctors to learn how to administer the clotshots of the future?

The number of black college juniors who are qualified to go to medical school and become doctors, even academicians, is not zero.
HMS can take as many of them as they like. What’s the class, like 110?
HMS could take the top 110 black college premeds in the country, and not lose a thing.
