Looks like the end of the for Buick. Sad another company destroyed by the US Government and bad management. I always had a soft spot for Buicks but it has been disappearing for years.

They should take the deal and run....The EV market isn’t going to be a piece of cake. Cut their losses now....

So GM has decided Buick will be all electric by the end of this decade????

Calif.givernir governor Newsom has decided by 2035, the only new cars allowed to be sold are electric. A number of other states and some countries in Europe are also targeting 2035 for conversion to electric cars.

Is the electric grid going to be able to accommodate all these electric cars? Are the powers that be asking these sorts of questuins as we move forward to all electric cars?

I will believe that electric cars are viable when I start to see auto races with them. That's how we got all the innovations in our current crop of ICE cars.

Are we going to have ICE races and EV races, or will they compete together? A bit like the tranny problem in water sports (pun definitely tongue in cheek).

So GM has unlimited funds to “Buy out” dealers who know better than to go “All in” on EV’s?
Who is really paying for this?
The taxpayers I bet.

Buick used to be one of the more innovative brands, OHV Strait-8, the famous “Nail Head” V8, all Aluminum 215 V8, Buick V6 and Turbo v6.

Few people want electric cars, few can afford them, and the companies won’t have the raw materials to make that many batteries.

This is deliberate BS.

How the hell is someone going to drive cross-country in a hoopty golf cart? All these rules are formulated by people who live in cities and ride subways.

One day when I was a kid, the next-door neighbor came home with one of these. Now, that was a Buick.

Why would sane businessmen think all electric is a plan? Why?

A 2020 Buick Regal TourX station wagon is a terrific car. Although it is really a German Opel with Buick badging. Built like an Audi/MB/BMW with a Buick price tag.

GM sold Opel and ended the rebranding deal in 2020.

I bought a 2001 Buick Century Custom with all the good features and in mint condition a few months ago.

That car has the most comfortable seats and drives like I am on a cloud. Better than the newer car I have.

A smart dealer would round up a ton of spare parts and subcontract a top notch machinist to make more, then offer overnight shipping to repair shops.

Personally, you couldn’t pay me to own an EV, and I’m one of those people who gets carsick from them just by being a passenger.

Since most also sell GMC trucks, I doubt they would miss Buick that much.

My dad, bless him, during his entire life drove Buicks. He;s gone now, but he would be aghast at Buicks abandonment of those big , superior Buick gasoline engines.

One of his favorites was a 1959 Buick Electra. Now we are going electric ? Building a car that will limit the range that the population can travel, limiting freedom of movement across the country?

It is truly idiotic. The attempt to create a market where none exists based on ideology and that an equivalent of some form of whacko religion. This will not last. Americans will never accept such limitations to their freedom of movement,,,,PERIOD.

Give me an Electra, or give me DEATH!
