Dr. Mehmet Oz, who earned former President Donald Trump’s primary-race endorsement in April, is going down in flames according to a new GOP poll.
Republican-affiliated Public Opinion Strategies reports that surgeon-turned-TV-host Dr. Oz trails Democrat John Fetterman by nearly 20 points!
Trump gave Oz his “complete and total endorsement” before the wide-open GOP primary of six candidates, a move that probably sealed the deal with Pennsylvania Republicans.
The doc won in a squeaker, barely beating out second-place finisher David McCormick, 31.2% to 31.1%.
The former president praised Oz’s positions on abortion, crime, the Second Amendment, border security, the military, education, energy independence, and election fraud. Those are all well and good, but before lending an endorsement, someone in Trump’s position first needs to determine whether the recipient is at all likely to win the general election.
In Dr. Oz’s case, right now that’s a big, fat NO.
Let’s face it: He is not a good candidate.
After winning his primary, Oz went AWOL.
While Fetterman was literally incapacitated by a stroke, the doc failed to capitalize on a prime opportunity to define himself and his prone opponent:
Recent reporting suggests that Oz might not have taken advantage of those several weeks where Fetterman was sidelined, a significant span of time during a race that could be integral to party control of the Senate.
Puck is reporting that the former TV personality was in Palm Beach, Florida, until June 9 at least, not holding his first post-primary event until June 10. Oz reportedly also traveled to Ireland to visit family at the end of June and did not return until early July.

Sources tell Puck that Donald Trump, who enraged some of his base by supporting Oz, is now complaining to his Fox News bud Sean Hannity about his poor performance. Hannity was the one who coaxed Trump to endorse him in the first place, and throw in the fact that Hannity hasn’t had Trump on his show since April, he must be hopping mad.
1. Oz is untrustworthy on the issues and that is dangerous
2. Oz is a poor candidate and that is dangerous
3. Trump’s brand is weakened by association with Oz
4. Hannity is a really really bad source of advice
No shocker here. Oz is a phony who suckered many people. I’ve sworn off Hannity because of his inexplicable love affair with Oz. I am still 100% behind Trump though I do not understand many of his choices and never have.
Fetterman is a hard-core leftist and is simply a weird, off-putting dude. Also, he had a severe stroke and looks like hell. He can barely speak. He is physically and mentally unfit for the office. Rather than talking about polling and Oz’ shortcomings conservatives should be trashing Fetterman with gusto 24/7 until Election Day.
Well, if the voters in Pennsylvania don’t give a care about what happens when the rotten, corrupt Dimocrats rule the state, then why should I care.
When I thought that Mastriano was having a chance at winning, I was so pleased and offered support to PA people.
If they want to abandon all decency and decorum, then I have no interest in the State in which I was born...and have grown to HATE.
This is stupid talk. Get rid of him in 6 years.
That lazy, sleazy commie dirtbag must be defeated. If PA can’t do that, to Hell with Pennsylvania — no better than NY, CA.
I didn’t want to believe the rumors that Oz lost interest and just wants to get back to TV where he was making more money, but here we are.
That’s how you can tell the RINOs, by such actions as you described.
>> Dr. Oz trails Democrat John Fetterman by nearly 20 points!
Doubtful
If you’re going to believe this poll with Oz down 18, it also has Mastriano down 15. That means it had nothing to do with Trump or Hannity. It is what it is.
Agreed. Oz ain’t sh*t.
Listening to Mr. Two-CIA-Pins Hannity at all is a problem.
Then Oz should back out now. Primaries are ongoing for another few weeks.
Oz is difficult because he is so alien and with such negative features such as being Muslim that it is difficult for conservatives to go through the process of rationalizing and inner persuading that we sometimes have to do with poor candidates, a process that is easier with someone who is weak but at least within the range of normal.
If we lose the Senate it will be on your boy Mitch McConnell.
Where the Hell have you been?
Welcome back... I think ;)

Would you PUHLEESE stop talking rationally, you’ll spoil the pity party. /sarc
his opponent actually said he wants to empty 1/3 of the prisons....inflation....crime...a vegetable president at 37% approval....incredible...
People.here complained about all 3 major GOP candidates for this Senate seat.
I know nothing of PA politics. But just saying, is there a problem recruiting acceptable conservative candidates there?
I have a feeling we would be having this same conversation if another candidate had won that primary.
McCormick was said to be too much a RINO, and people said Barnette was unable to win the general election.
So here we are.
Doubtful, besides too early for such pessimism.
