Russia has lost yet another command post to a Ukrainian rocket strike after a headquarters in Donbas was blown up Thursday, officials have claimed.
Video from the occupied city of Lysychansk uploaded to Telegram and taken by Chechen special forces appeared to capture the moment the rockets struck on Wednesday afternoon, sending plumes of smoke into the air.
More footage then documented the aftermath, with a Russian flag shown fluttering limply over a courtyard strewn with rubble as men in military fatigues milled about.
Serhiy Haidai, the regional governor, said Ukraine had struck the base - which had been set up inside the old headquarters of Kyiv's security services - and killed around 100 Russians, including commanders of the 2nd Army and 20 FSB officers.
It comes just two days after the Ukrainian headquarters of the notorious Wagner mercenary group was blown up after a Russian propagandist accidentally gave away its location in a photograph.

The video could be real, could be fake. I see smoke coming up from behind a treeline. Then the video skips to guys walking around in some rubble.
Ukraine has a claim of what it is...
That’s the facts so far.
Say all of this is true. Say the Russians are on the verge of conventional capitulation. How does that capitulation occur? Is there a new strongman backed coup, a western backed coup? Does Putin shut down Russian energy, while clamoring onboard the woke, green global express? Or does Russia come down to threatening to use or using their very last effective and completely game changing weapon out of desperation? If these reports are all true, Russia is very desperate, cornered, outgunned and guilty as hell. Thank goodness we have the seasoned, professional, brilliant patriotic leaders in DC to shepherd us through these dangerous times.
calling bull smoke
Russia isn’t done but they’re going to have a hard time to hold referendums on Sept 11. That’s the purpose of this offensive. Stop Sept 11 referendums.
Or what if the Russians have traditional Russian reactions, which will consist of blaming NATO for the deaths since Ukraine is relying on NATO arms, NATO intelligence, and NATO advisors. Do they shoot down an RC135 by “accident” to teach us a lesson. At some point the fact that NATO is defacto running the battle against Russia will or has become so blatant that even the most peace loving Russian will be forced to acknowledge it. Putin can punish the west by cutting off all energy supplies to the EU, or conduct a terror strike against a civilian target and basically dare the EU and NATO to respond. A few chemical warhead rockets hitting Kiev and causing tens of thousands of civilian casualties as a warning to Europe to keep their hands off the battlefield would probably achieve the goal Russia has in mind.
The current offensive, where the brave Ukrainian orcs are advancing on the Dnepr River from Bakhmut, and the Russians are being driven West in retreat from Peski, Siversk, Severdonetsk and Lysychansk?
LOL, I think Reagan’s comments including calling them the Evil Empire did more than anything else to topple the Soviet Union. Reagan caused the Soviet Union to become circumspective and they didn’t like what they saw.
I believe that Shoigu said recently that Westerners are calling the battlefield shots, with Ukie infantry cannon fodder absorbing the Russian shellbursts.
Ukraine were soviets’ at the time
I disregard the reports as propaganda. I rely on updated maps and daily information on specific actions. Talk of Russia “capitulating” has been bruited about ever since the early days when Winkin’ Blinkin was yammering about “giving Putin an off ramp,” despite there being no reason whatsoever to think Putin wanted one.
The battle lines on the ground have hardly moved in many days, and the long slog of attrition continues.
I will say this, Russia does not appear to have the troops and mobility to maneuver in the South, where the situation would cry out for it. That’s a good sign, i’d say.
The way this war has been playing out I expect Putin to either declare war and put everything he has left into Ukraine or I expect his commanders to oust him the same way Putin ousted people: With a .17 caliber bullet behind the ear.
But he is not going to go quietly. He knows his life hangs on the outcome of this war.
That said, so long as Putin remains in control of Russia then trade and diplomatic relations will not revert to status quo ante bellum. Too much blood has been shed and too many nuclear threats have been issued.
Finland and Sweden are joining NATO, looks like Moldova is going to reunite with Romania and instantly join NATO (inclusive of Transnistria), and it also looks like Austria and Switzerland are taking steps to at least integrate their forces with NATO.
I could go on but I say all of this to make the point that the odds of Putin being ousted by his own people grow with every passing day.
Now that doesn’t necessarily mean ‘regime change’. Putin could simply be replaced by another thug but one who will extract Russia from Ukraine. I seriously doubt we’ll ever have another ‘Kumbaya’ moment with Russia like we did in the 1990’s.
Those days are gone.
Oh, and China is very likely to seize Siberia. I expect them to do so by this fall. Meaning anytime between now and when the cold weather comes.
Can’t have people deciding their own national destiny can we. Unless they are Albanians.
Keep killing the RuZZians by the thousands every month until they leave Ukrainian land.
I expect the Mexicans to seize California. I expect the Germans to seize Western Poland. I expect England to seize Normandy and France to counterseize south eastern England. I expect Sweden to seize Finland. I expect Argentina to seize the Falklands.I expect Thailand to seize Cambodia. I expect India to seize the whole Punjab. I expect..
There’s a lot of room for advancement in the ranks on both sides.
From buck private to general in a year!
What a way to run a war!!!
Yeah, right! As if a "referendum" held under military occupation in the middle of a war by a nation that has declared Ukrainians are really Russians would be honest. It would be about as honest as any election in Russia itself or in North Korea.
