A man fought his girlfriend and grabbed a stroller, knocking their infant daughter to the ground at Hollywood Studios last month, authorities said.
Fortunately, the baby, who was evaluated by Reedy Creek first responders, was not injured by the fall, according to an Orange County Sheriff’s arrest report.
The child’s father, Matthew Johnston, 40, of Port St. Lucie, was arrested for domestic violence after he was accused of punching his girlfriend, and he was taken to jail, Orange Circuit Court documents showed. The state attorney’s office later decided not to prosecute him, according to a July 25 court filing.
“From the investigation which has been made, it is the opinion of the writer that this case is not suitable for prosecution,” the filing said. The Florida Department of Children and Families was notified about the July 5 arrest.
The girlfriend didn’t want to press charges and said she didn’t remember Johnston striking her but multiple people witnessed the fight including two strangers, her family and a Disney security guard, according to the arrest report.
Two bystanders told law enforcement Johnston appeared to be drunk and was arguing with his girlfriend over who was going to take the baby.
“They both witnessed Matthew punch (his girlfriend) in the chest with a closed fist and then attempt to push her away from the stroller so he could take the baby. They then observed Matthew aggressively grab the stroller from (his girlfriend) and saw (the baby) fall from the stroller,” the arrest report stated.

‘merica! Whadda country!!! We beat the crap out of and murder our babies. I knew this was going to happen once every idiot on board this dinghy finally had a “college diploma.”
Well, in all fairness, Gruesome Newsom has been begging the loonies to come back to Cauliphonya.
“Florida man, figures”
I know right. I don’t know how anybody could visit there much less live......disgusting.
Had something like that happen at a local mall years ago. Woman was holding an infant in her arms when her husband punched her in her face. If was his misfortune that several Marines were near by. Several women went to the woman’s aid while the marine saw he didn’t go anywhere near her. Cops took the guy into custody. Sounds like his wife was use to it saying he was in a bad mood
Does CPS still get involved with situations such as this, where neither parent seems to have the child’s interest as first priority?
The man is in denial that he’s a mean drunk, capable of getting so drunk at a public place, where he starts fighting over who’s taking charge of the Baby in the stroller.
The wife is in denial that this is what she’s married to, somebody who would strike her in front of her family and while in public.
CPS may be more concerned with pronouns and splitting up intact family units due to thought crimes.
In a few months or year, we will likely be reading this case where he will kill her and the baby and attempt suicide and not finish himself off.
Rio Linda East.
Exactly. I moved down here, and I cannot believe the havoc. Makes the state entirely unsuitable for liberals.
So, Alec Baldwin and family are out and about? *SMIRK*
A misdemeanor domestic violence conviction will lose your gun rights for life.
That and a dishonorable discharge are the two ways to permanently lose your rights.
Even felons can get their rights restored.
If she tried to put Baby in a corner, she deserved a punch! ;)
(KIDDING! NO one should be punching ANYONE.)

What do you expect? It’s Demon Disney...
Wait. How could that not work?
Personally I wouldn’t go to Florida to throw up
This article states Reedy Creek and Orange Cty Sheriffs responded.
If I remember the scenario correctly, in the past before FL Gov DeSantis eliminated Disney taxing cutouts (can’t remember the proper terminology) this would have been handled by Disney employed EMTs and Disney employed Law Enforcement. The resultant report may have gotten to FL Child Services but their is was no guarantees. Also Disney would do everything possible to ensure it never hit the newspapers.
Tell’em about the smells...
It stinks down here in Fla..
Totally unsuitable for certain folks.
