How election deniers are campaigning to control voting in four critical states. (Barf Alert)

Mark Finchem, an Arizona state representative who has said he would not have certified the 2020 election, won the Republican primary for secretary of state on Tuesday, making him the latest election denier to move closer to controlling his state’s election system.

Across the country, Republicans who say the 2020 election was rigged are vying to be elected secretary of state, a position that would grant them immense control over their states’ election systems.

As of July 28, at least 20 election deniers are running for secretary of state in 16 states, according to States United Action, an organization that tracks these races.

Races for secretary of state since 2020 have gone from low-profile contests to ones in which massive amounts of money have been spent on candidates who have a higher profile than ever before.

As November approaches, candidates in Arizona and three other critical states — Michigan, Minnesota, and Nevada — continue to claim that Donald Trump won the 2020 election and have vowed to erect barriers to voting. All the candidates have raised enough money to be competitive.

They’ve all won the Republican nomination and will appear on the ballot in November. They all have close ties to Trump allies and many of them have been endorsed by Trump.

Here’s how four candidates are campaigning and what they say about the future of elections in their states:

This is all such BS.

As a CPA I’ve run many elections for clients’ board of directors, and volunteered to serve as treasurer for dozens of clubs and small organizations where offices and policies are put to a vote.

In my forty years of running elections, I’ve never had one single case where common sense procedures were ignored or bypassed - and there has never been a single problem.

Even my high school kids’ elections for class president, etc., are always run without a hitch.

Everyone knows there is a fixed time to vote. Everyone knows people vote in person. Everyone knows there needs to be an accurate list of who may vote. Everyone knows voters need to prove they are who they say they are. Everyone knows there has to be a way to prevent people from voting more than once. Everyone knows the entire process must be observed by representatives of each candidate.

It’s not rocket science - it’s common sense. Kindergarteners can run an election.

"...have vowed to erect barriers to voting."

...have vowed to erect barriers to ILLEGAL voting.

Fixed it for you, Kira, not that you would ever admit that what you wrote is pure BS.

I’m aware of what the mainstream news media is doing. For starts, they are completely ignoring the processes of Voter Authentication for Mail-In Ballot, Early Voting, Photo IDs, etc. Haven’t they ever heard of the problem that liquor-service establishments happen in college towns with Authentication processes due to so many fake id(s)?

I didn’t see any such alarm when Media-Dem Party activists were worming their way into the election system, to say nothing about DA slots across the country. We’ve seen stolen elections and massive increases in crime in their wake.

Yes. "Slavery Deniers", "Holocaust Deniers", "Climate Change Deniers", and finally, "Election Deniers". This from the party of slogans, that for nearly sixty years, has been unable to come up with any more original chant than "Hey, Hey, Ho, Ho, blah blah blah blah has got to go!"

We need to make it part of the state constitutions that voting MUST happen in-person, and WITH ID, and that such ID must certify that the person is a legal citizen.

The highest court in Wisconsin has spoken.

‘Elections that violate the State Legislatures laws illegitimate because they do not elect people with the consent of the governed’

When election laws are broken, it’s not an election, it’s treason. How many states violated their own election laws? Virtually every swing state. The current administration and Congress rules without the consent of the governed.

It’s a government of the government, by the government, for the government.

“... and have vowed to erect barriers to voting.”

And what might these ‘barriers’ be? Having to prove you are eligible to vote? Having to prove you are who you say you are. Having to actually drop your ballot in a ballot box as opposed to having someone else do it for you? Having to actually vote in person? How oppressive!
