The pro-life movement suffered a defeat in Kansas on Tuesday when the state overwhelmingly voted to uphold abortion “rights.”
The vote in Kansas on Tuesday centered on whether or not the state would remove abortion rights protections in the State Constitution, potentially paving the way for “state lawmakers to pass far-reaching abortion restrictions, or even to pursue a ban,” according to the New York Times.
With 76 percent reporting, the “No” votes to keep abortion rights in place beat the “Yes” votes by double digits – 62.2 percent versus 37.7 percent as of this writing. Both NBC News and the New York Times have projected “No” as the referendum winner.
Abortion activists and Democrat lawmakers celebrated the victory.
“This is huge: abortion rights were on the ballot for the first time since Roe, and the people of Kansas voted to preserve access,” tweeted Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA). “I’m grateful down to my toes for everyone who helped stop this dangerous ballot measure in its tracks.”

OK, let me process this.
You are saying (based on voter registration info) that more D’s voted in this referendum than R’s? Correct?
If so, it is shameful so many didn’t vote. However, most (admittedly anecdotal) evidence I’ve accumulated in my life tells me that most people who call themselves conservative and vote for R candidates over D candidates still want abortion legal but restricted. Sometimes severely so.
More of these referendums will come so we will know the true thoughts soon enough (unless those become rigged too).

Not the registration info, but that actual turnout. And yes, it looks like the Ds voted to “uphold”, and the Rs not. The percentages are nearly a perfect match.

Indeed, and it’s an ongoing problem. The GOP machinery sucks. Trump filled that void. But he can’t be everywhere.
Ballot measures can be sneaky things. Any political expert that knows voting behavior could have predicted this outcome. And that’s why the GOP machinery should be held accountable for this intentional failure.
Unless the Military bombs every country into submission it’ll be impossible to impose American views on Abortion to the entire world. It would be best for everyone to focus on their own State/community.

To clarify my previous post... the voter registrations do in fact matter as that determines who can vote for the Ds and likewise the Rs.
We’re too busy imposing rights for perverts to the rest of the world.
I certainly agree that GOP, Inc. is no help. Whether they will ever be held to account is a different story.
States do not have the right to decide what is a person or not. Murder should be illegal in all 50 states.

Not that He needs it but now God will have a written record of those who believe that murder of the most innocent is OK.
Written in ink, Python? Comic sans?

Like two wolves and a sheep voting for dinner; two adults voting to end the life of another human.
no need to request that on your shirts.
Only way would be to vote in MAGA Republicans in the next legislative general election.
Triggley Puff’s new do.
Where not ALL of us, at one time?
were...
It appears that they ain’t all that self-evident anymore.
KS is like CO and NM in its love for abortion. Yet, didn’t Bob Dole claim to be pro-life?
Liberal, KS, I believe is still a conservative city; it voted for Goldwater in 1964.
