Arizona Democrat Sen. Mark Kelly, who’s facing a tough re-election bid, touted his role in getting the Biden administration to fill gaps in the border wall despite having voted against legislation aiding the barrier in the past.
Kelly applauded the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) decision to close the gaps after “months of coordination” between it, his office and the White House, according to a Thursday statement. But the former astronaut voted against border wall initiatives at least three times in 2021, including an amendment to prohibit the federal government’s cancellation of border wall contracts and two other amendments seeking to stop the cancellation of border wall contracts that had already received appropriated funding.

It’s worse. Six to nine months before an election they start acting all pro-American, anti-immigration, pro-wall, pro-border protection to get re-elected.

Walls don’t work. We’ve all seen the mock-ups showing how easy they are to climb over, the media proved it. Democrats proved it.
Makes one sick how they’ll use an issue like this to get re-elected then revert back to their old self.

Flake had a very good conservative record as a Congressman. Sucked as a Senator and was at 17% in the polls when he decided to quit.
Sinema? She was running against an anti-Trump establishment GOP woman (McSally) with the charisma of a dead fish. I voted for her opponent, but Sinema has been - for a democrat - a pleasant surprise.
Kelly? He has 10 times as much money as all his GOP challengers combined. He’s a total sell-out to China - but a lot of businessmen wanting to build in China seem to suck up. He’s a POS, but the state GOP establishment put McSally into McCain’s seat when he died. So two years after losing to Sinema, Dead Fish McSally lost to Kelly in the 2020 special election.
Here’s our problem: Lots of Maricopa Big Money types are on the Cheap Labor Express, hate building a wall, loathed Trump and love China (and anywhere else that promises cheap labor). They control the media in Arizona, have lots of cash to buy ads, and, if in doubt, will get 2-3 conservative candidates to tear each other up in the primary so the democrat wins.
How did Kelly vote when he had a chance to support the wall the previous 4 years?
If he's elected HIS PARTY will defeat any wall...he'll have no say in that decision. It's why Republicans have to win.
