He wasn’t there. He was just elected in 2020.

John McCain was reelected in 2016, then got cancer and died in 2018. John Kyl was appointed temporarily as a Senator. In the mean-time, Martha McSally lost to Kirsten Sinema in 2018 (Flake retired after one term). And to replace temporary Kyl, Governor Ducey appointed Martha McSally, who lost to Kelly in November 2020.

So Kelly is finishing out McCain’s term. And 2022 is a whole new term.

Thank you. I was beginning to wonder if we were still a democracy. In a true democracy I should be allowed to vote for whatever candidate I want. Just because the candidate is in a state of which I am not a citizen should not matter. When they votes in the Senate they affect me so I should be able to have a vote in whether they hold office.

100% Correct, for years the dems and GOPe would vote to approve 1,000 new Border Patrol Agents and construction of the border wall. They would put it in their fundraising material and brag about it.

Then every year there was no funding in the budget for the allocation and nothing got done. This went on for 15 years like clockwork until 911 upset their apple cart and they had no choice.

Along with that political posturing is the delay in actually restarting construction of the wall in the gaps. Although the noise is made now, construction won’t start until the first of next year...after the elections.

I campaigned against her, didn't vote for her but have been pleasantly surprised on occasion by her independence and focus on her constituents wishes instead of schumer's threats and demands.
