I looked up federal employment statistics. Using the On-Board Personnel method (head count at the end of a quarter) federal government civilian employment was 2,191,011 at the end of the last fiscal year. That was up from 2020 and 2020 was up from 2019. Government employment grew during the pandemic while millions in the private lost their jobs.

I firmly maintain that the inflation that we are experiencing is due to massive government overspending and poor monetary policy from the Federal Reserve. A significant portion of government spending goes towards employee salaries and benefits. Another sizable amount goes to federal contractors, who are by proxy federal employees. The result is massive debt, business productivity stifling regulations and a concentration of wealth around Washington, DC. Some of the wealthiest counties in the nation surround Washington DC.

Let’s be honest and clear. Government employees do not produce anything. Most have protected employment and cannot be fired. They are a drag on the economy and costs every hardworking American taxpayer in the private sector.

Some recent articles indicate that Trump plans on reclassifying 50,000 federal employees to be non civil service and firing them. I contend that this number is not nearly enough to correct the government and the economy.

50,000 sounds like a staggering number and the deep state will fight this tooth and nail. The leftist media will make this seem like a travesty. A perspective is required to combat this. That begins next week when civilian unemployment statistics will show more than 50,000 people have lost their jobs in July. That will be reported in the media as a figure and not a travesty. I am willing to bet federal employment actually increased in July.

July will mark the beginning of massive unemployment as part of the recession. The people losing their jobs actually contribute to the economy. Those that are employed by government do not. They are the cause of this mess. They face zero consequences. That needs to change. Fire their lazy asses. They need to work in the private sector and face the realities of life. They need to find a way to be productive or starve.

Gotta start somewhere.

The laws are the way they are because “our elected representatives” wanted it this way.

The deep state is already filled with political hacks and it is time their numbers were trimmed.

I saw an interview recently with a WH official working with Sec of State Pompeo on Middle East issues, during the Trump adminstration.

One of the issues he discussed was how the state department did everything they possibly could to undermine both Trump’s policies concerning Israel and the initiative that resulted in the Abraham accords. One of the things the state was extremely irritated with Trump about was that unlike any prior U.S. President and unlike Biden, Trump visited the Western Wall, sometimes referred to as The Wailing Wall. The pro-Palestinian forces in the U.S. hate that because they know the Western Wall is a testament to the thousands of years of Jewish settlement in Jersusalem, and long predating the influx of Arabs in the Muslim era.

This is proof that Trump has learned much from his first go-round with the establishment’s administrative state.

He need to bring the wrecking ball then. It appears he is now building a big one for the next time.

no, Trump has already said he would rid agencies.
in other government words, he will “delete the position”.
therefore, there is no ‘job loss’, it doesn’t exist anymore.
therefore, unless the system has changed, there is no basis for unemployment benefits, since there is no position to employ to!!

After Katrina, the V.A. in New Orleans did that to 3500 of its employees, including me.

Same ole leftist/socialist crap. They will never get so many problems are caused by the bureaucracies and the people they employ. NO Fedgov employee should have a permanent job. That goes for many State and Local employees.

Civil service ‘reform’ was done to get rid of the problems created by the spoils system—the most egregious of which was a Presidential assassination. The spoils system insured that the President had a civil service that had to at least pretend to be loyal to him to keep their jobs.

We have now gotten to a point where the civil service reform protections need to be changed. Presidents, like say President Trump, find themselves dealing with civil service employees who actively try to thwart his agenda and if possible bring him and his administration down.

These lazy slugs don’t “serve” the American people. None of them are civil servants. They are arrogant, self-centered manipulators and resistors of ANY reforms or productive job improvements.

They don’t DO much of anything and it is at their own speed. They have two working speeds...slow and stop.

Any worker without fear of job termination quickly becomes worthless.
