Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) said Sunday that the House committee investigating the Jan. 6 riot is “fully prepared to contemplate a subpoena” for Virginia “Ginni” Thomas, the wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, if she won’t testify before the committee voluntarily.
“The committee is engaged with her counsel. We certainly hope that she will agree to come in voluntarily but the committee is fully prepared to contemplate a subpoena if she does not,” Cheney told CNN “State of the Union” co-host Jake Tapper. “I hope it doesn’t get to that. I hope she will come in voluntarily.”

It’s not the constitutional role of Congress to force private citizens to testify before their committees.
Think of the unchecked abuse of power that would cause. And that’s what we are seeing.
Cheney is making a deliberate attempt to intimidate a sitting Supreme Court justice. This is scary, banana republic stuff. And I’ll lay even money that the committee will issue that subpoena.
Nah, the republicans will make sure the committee keeps going. They will just make it LOOK more fair. They republican party wants this.
How is harassing Thomas going to get Trump?
I wouldn't even acknowledge my name to these clowns. I would however let my stare cut right through them.
She KNOWS that she’s out come her primary next month and auditioning for a post-legislative whining-RINO-TURNED-LEFTIST career at MSNBC or CNN.
“We are going to contemplate considering?” Really?
Cheney will run as an “independent” or write-in candidate.
I wonder what her father, Deadeye Dick, thinks about watching his daughter commit political suicide. What a set of daughters this guy spawned, huh?
There may be an abuse of process claim arising out of the issuance of the subpoenas.
There are, “three essential elements of the tort of abuse of process can be distilled from the preceding history and case law. First, there must be regularly issued process, civil or criminal, compelling the performance of forebearance of some prescribed act. Next, the person activating the process must be moved by a purpose to do harm without that which has been traditionally described as economic or social excuse or justification (cf. James v Board of Educ. of Cent. School Dist. No. 1 of Towns of Orangetown & Clarkstown, 37 NY2d 891). Lastly, defendant must be seeking some collateral advantage or corresponding detriment to the plaintiff which is outside the legitimate ends of the process.”

What exactly does Cheney think Mrs. Thomas has to offer?
A lot of Dem grudges being settled here. I expect that they will call Rush Limbaugh as a witness too , just so they can smell his stink and call him out for it.
An investigation in search of a crime.
Hey Cheney, here’s a question for you to answer: Does anyone have a right to opinions that don’t match yours and your fascist Democrat pals’?
> “I dont think the calendar is quite clear in Liz Cheney’s brain yet, she remains acting like there isnt a primary and general election in WY.”
In Cheney’s past election cycles, her campaigns have raked in on average $2 million.
This year alone it’s more than $12 million
And the big donors are connected to the World Economic Forum (WEF) of Great Reset and Build Back Better fame.
You can bet there’s a book deal in works for her with millions in advances for a ghost written blurb on why Trump is Hitler.
She’s doing fine. She’s smiling all the way to the bank, literally.
They are playing with fire and might get burned.
I suspect you are right. Hadn’t thought of that.
I an going to relish watching Lizard Cheney appear before the new Committee to Investigate the January 6th Committee, starting next year and led by Grand Chief Inquisitor Steven K Bannon.
Lizard thinks she will be in power forever, or protected by the deep state. Nothing in creation is going to save her ass from what is coming. She is going to have to answer for her crimes.
They better slow down. They will run out of ways to keep this notworthy till after November by calling everyone on earth except themselves.

> The subpoena would violate the independence of the judicial branch. <
True. But the Demo-fascists don’t care about that. They’ll give it a go anyway. However, spousal privilege is a pretty strong protection. I don’t see how Mrs. Thomas could be forced to answer anything at all about her husband.
But I suppose that the committee’s goal is less about getting information and more about embarrassing Justice Thomas.
I’m not exactly sure... but I don’t think the Gov’t is following laws anymore.
It’s just the public that hasn’t figured that out yet.
