MEDITATION ON SUCCESS
"Do not let this Book of Law (The Torah) depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful." (Joshua 1:8) "Great success, like disgrace, can bring great trouble. Success which advances ego can make you lose your way." (Tao 13.) A lawyer once commented to me, "If you preachers ever convince people to live by the Ten Commandments, I will be out of business". Now there is a thought: lawyers out of business! Doing God's will is the only real guarantee of success. Beginning with the Ten Commandments, we must first learn the laws by which God guarantees success. To learn these laws is not just a mental exercise but the beginning of a way of living, a way which brings the reward of joyful success. Successful people are often asked, "What is the secret of your success?" One person responded..."To live life fully by doing rather than talking". Maybe that is what is meant by the words in Joshua quoted above. Obedience to God brings happiness, which is real success! CAPT Stephen W. Seelig, CHC, USN

Dear God: I ask that no Airman, Coast Guardsman, Marine, Sailor, Soldier, Reservist, National Guardsman, or Merchant Marine feel alone or forgotten.
O Israel, hope in the Lord; For with the Lord there is loving kindness, And with Him is abundant redemption. And He will redeem Israel From all his iniquities.
Psalm 130:7 & 8

God Knows
The Mighty One, God, the Lord! He knows! Joshua 22:22
A couple who stopped to admire a large abstract painting noticed open paint cans and brushes underneath it. Assuming it was a “work in progress” that anyone could help create, they stroked in some color and left. The artist, though, had purposefully left the supplies there as part of the finished work’s display. After reviewing video footage of the incident, the gallery acknowledged the misunderstanding and didn’t press charges.
The Israelites who lived east of the Jordan created a misunderstanding when they built a massive altar next to the river. The western tribes viewed this as rebellion against God—everyone knew the tabernacle was the only God-approved place for worship (Joshua 22:16).
Tensions mounted until the eastern tribes explained that they only meant to make a replica of God’s altar. They wanted their descendants to see it and recognize their spiritual and ancestral connection with the rest of Israel (vv. 28–29). They exclaimed: “The Mighty One, God, the Lord! He knows!” (v. 22). Thankfully, the others listened. They saw what was going on, praised God, and returned home.
Because God “searches every heart and understands every desire and every thought” (1 Chronicles 28:9), everyone’s motives are clear to Him. If we ask Him to help us sort out confusing situations, He may give us the chance to explain ourselves or the grace we need to forgive offenses. We can turn to Him when we’re striving for unity with others. — Jennifer Benson Schuldt
What kind of value do you place on unity with others? Why is it vital for us to lovingly disagree with fellow believers at times?
Dear God, help me to be an attentive listener and humble speaker.

He Who blessed our forefathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob - may He bless the fighters of the Israel Defense Force, who stand guard over our land and the cities of our G-d from the border of the Lebanon to the desert of Egypt, and from the Great Sea unto the approach of the Aravah, on the land, in the air, and on the sea.
May HASHEM cause the enemies who rise up against us to be struck down before them. May the Holy One, Blessed is He, preserve and rescue our fighting men from every trouble and distress and from every plague and illness, and may He send blessing and success in their every endeavor.
May He lead our enemies under their sway and may He grant them salvation and crown them with victory. And may there be fulfilled for them the verse: For it is Hashem, your G-d, Who goes with you to battle your enemies for you to save you.
G-d bless and keep your children safe, Alouette.

Howdy, Kathy.
Did you manage to find some time to kick back and relax a little today? Not too bad a day up there for lounging on the deck a bit.
It’s been blazing hot here this weekend and will be for a couple more days yet. Then we finally get a little break in this horrid hot spell. Are we ever ready for THAT!

Hey there, Kathy.
It was very slow at the museum this weekend. Just too hot for most people to want to go anywhere unless absolutely necessary.
A good friend of mine was at the museum when I got there this morning. He had a couple more items to donate to the museum and had his nephew and nephew’s grandson with him. They hadn’t seen the museum before. Going through with them was a really nice start to the day.
Feetsies aren’t too tired tonight since I only did one tour yesterday and two today. Next weekend is supposed to be cooler and we all hope we’ll be busy then. Slow days are boring.

Hey there, radu!
Did you survive the heat to enjoy your time at the museum this wekend? It was a bit cooler here. 98 instead of 104. Funny how that extra 0 makes all the difference. LOL!
