Trudeau pushes ahead on fertilizer reduction as provinces and farmers cry foul

Provincial agriculture ministers are expressing frustration with the Trudeau government over plans to effectively reduce fertilizer use by Canada’s farmers in the name of fighting climate change

A meeting of federal and provincial ministers wrapped up in Saskatoon on Friday with several provinces saying they are disappointed.

The federal government is looking to impose a requirement to reduce nitrous oxide emissions from fertilizers saying it is a greenhouse gas contributing to climate change. While the Trudeau government says they want a 30% reduction in emissions, not fertilizer, farm producer groups say that at this point, reducing nitrous oxide emissions can’t be done without reducing fertilizer use.

“Provinces were disappointed by the lack of flexibility and consultation regarding the federal target,” Ontario’s Lisa Thompson said after the meeting.

Several provincial governments, and organizations representing farmers have asked for emissions reductions from fertilizer to be measured via intensity – how much food is produced compared to the amount of fertilizer used. The Trudeau government is demanding an absolute reduction in emissions, which farmers say will result in less food being produced at a time when the world can ill afford it.

“The world is looking for Canada to increase production and be a solution to global food shortages. The Federal government needs to display that they understand this,” Alberta minister Nate Horner said.

“We’re really concerned with this arbitrary goal,” Saskatchewan’s David Marit said.

In Sri Lanka, a ban on chemical fertilizers devastated agriculture and was one cause of the government overthrow.

Trudeau: My plan for carbon reduction is to starve people to death.

The WEF acolytes couldn’t kill enough of the population with their clot shot mandates, so now they’re going to starve their populations to death. This might not work out as well for them personally as they think it will.

And if you go out in the streets his gestapo will hit you, beat you, arrest you, and throw you in prison. It will confiscate your vehicles. It will freeze your bank accounts.

Forgotten what he did?

Biden would be doing this, if the people handling him thought he could get away with it.

Let’s hope so.

However, at this point I suspect that we will need Divine iNtervention to remove these people from office and positions of power.

God, Let it be so by whatever mens You deem appropriate. Please protect the innocent and the ones the globalists have set their sights on.

He’ll get what he wants, even if has to send the UN in to kill us all.

I was just about to post the same story from a different source; https://thecountersignal.com/trudeau-moves-forward-with-fertilizer-reduction-climate-policy/

Same as Netherlands. 30% below 2020 reduction in nitrous oxide emissions.

That will probably mean a 20-25% reduction in major crop returns like canola and wheat. Wild guess, 10% of farmers go out of business?

As an upper midwest american farmer, I would be salivating at the increases in wheat and corn prices as my neighbors under castors sun would cut their productivity by 15-30%. It has to be a real economics hard on to be in industry where the competition purposely destroys it own world class productivity.

The same politican is going to ask why a load of bread costs so much next year. Politicians surely strive to be bigger than forces of nature, and the impact is on farmers, mostly making them richer for the past 4 decades.

It’s what happened to Sri Lanka and the Netherlands. It’s becoming hard to believe that it’s not a coordinated effort. Who is driving the destruction of our world? The WEF? Soros? Why isn’t there more discussion about it?

Biden would be doing this, if the people handling him thought he could get away with it.

They'll probably do it after the mid terms with a series of EOs

The elite seem to forget where their food comes from.

All the farmers and truckers need to do is not deliver food to the urban areas and things will get very interesting very fast. Feed their neighbors and associates first and if there’s any left, then maybe the progressives. Or maybe the progressives can learn to grow their own food.

I wonder how much greenhouse gas would be emitted by tarring and feathering the government?
