Türkiye will freeze the admission process of Sweden and Finland if they fail to implement the trilateral agreement signed during the Madrid Summit, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has said.
“I want to reiterate once again that we will freeze the process if Sweden and Finland don’t take the necessary steps concerning our conditions,” Erdoğan said after a routine cabinet meeting on July 18.
Türkiye, Sweden and Finland signed a trilateral memorandum of understanding that obliges the two Nordic states to cooperate with Türkiye against the terrorist organizations in return for entering NATO.
Türkiye gave a conditional green light to them, Erdoğan said, referring to the fact that the Turkish Parliament should also approve the bids of Sweden and Finland.

It’s weird how when you listen to reliable commentators instead of reading trolling articles on Ukraine from Brit propaganda outlets, that none of these things come as a surprise.
The country wants to be called “Turkiye” from now on and you are using the new official spelling adopted by Mr. Erdogan.

I studied German with umlauts but I still have to figure out how to type one.
Czechia, Mumbai, Myanmar, Now Turkiye...
Even old New York was once New Amsterdam.
I have a list of diacritics on a document on my hard drive. But if I'm too lazy to retrieve it, I'll just Duckduckgo a word containing a diacritic and then steal it from a website.
Thailand was Siam, Beijing was Peking, Iran was Persia, and I’m sure there are many ofuer such changes of names we could cite.

as they are, and see wholesale name changes as something akin
to chaos.
Install a German keyboard preference [or other language with umlaut].
Or the lazy man's way [I use this] - find a page you know has the umlauted vowel, and copy & paste it into your post.

The Turkish military may have other things to say about this...
Now that Turkey is essentially an Islamic dictatorship it should be tossed out of the alliance.
Since PKK and the Kurds are mostly Muslim, I have mixed feelings about supporting them, although the USA relationship with the Iraqi Kurds inclines me to support anyone who opposes Erdogan and his Muslim Jihadi friends like Iran.
