China on Monday urged the U.S. "not to play with fire" on the Taiwan issue after the U.S. approved the potential sale of military-technical assistance to Taiwan worth an estimated $108 million.
The U.S. Defense Security Cooperation Agency said in a statement on Friday that the State Department has made a determination approving a possible foreign military sale to the "Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in the United States of Blanket Order Contractor Technical Assistance Support and related equipment."
This will be the fifth arms sale to the Taiwan region since U.S. President Joe Biden took office in January 2021 and the fourth one this year.
China firmly opposes U.S. arms sales to Taiwan and urges the United States to revoke the arms sales plan, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin said during Monday's press conference.

8. You realize government is in on scam.

China is only making a stink about Taiwan because they plan on invading Siberia.
“Russia, look over here! Don’t look at the 200,000 troops we’ve moved into Heilongjiang!”
This would be a great opportunity to invade Siberia, while Russian soldiers are in Ukraine. Siberia has enormous energy resources, just what China needs.
Selling arms to Taiwan will only be worthwhile if and only if the people of Taiwan are willing to actually fight as hard as the Ukrainians to defend their freedom and independence. Its not a given that they will.
If they do fight hard, Comrade Xi knows that there is no guarentee that an invasion across 90 miles of open ocean with a combat inexperienced army of one child soldiers and locally produced untested ships and planes, will succeed. He also knows that if it fails, things will not be pleasant for him, his family and sycophants.
IMHO if the people of Taiwan show real grit, there will be no invasion. Yet to be seen.

The Chinese are drinking their own piss. Don’t underestimate the ability of those willing to commit to their own rhetoric, especially when decent isn’t possible.

Anyone on Taiwan that wants to be a part of the mainland
can move there.
