On Friday’s “PBS NewsHour,” New York Times columnist David Brooks argued that even a ban on future purchases of guns would not reduce the number of guns in America and that reducing the number of guns in America would require something akin to an Australia-style gun buyback program. And that he has never understood why a gun buyback like Australia’s “is an affront to anybody.” Because it’s a choice whether to sell your gun back or not.
Brooks began by saying that the chance of the federal government taking further action on guns “Seems remote.”
He added, “I’ve never understood why an Australian-style gun buyback is an affront to anybody. It’s an open choice. You can sell your gun or not. But if we’re going to reduce 400 million guns, it would take something like that, not even just banning future purchases. I mean, we’ve got 400 million here.”

Bwahahaha
What if your guns aren’t for sale?
Exactly! We don't have a gun problem; we have a behavior problem.
Australia is a bad example ,LOL
I have a Japanese shotgun I’d sell them.
How can you “buy back” something you never sold or owned?
“It’s an open choice. You can sell your gun or not.”
And if “or not” you go to jail and lose your money.
Lots of BS. He starts with a lie.
In Australia, you did *not* have a choice for the banned guns.
They had to be turned in.
You could apply for a permit, I suppose, but almost none were issued for semi-automatic rifles or pump shotguns.
“I am more than done with
having to deal with the left. Don’t want to deal with them. Don’t want to be
around them.”
Mere knowledge of their existence makes me nauseous.
Secondly, How can you sell anything back to someone who never owned it? If anything, the government should be selling their weapons back to us, the people, since we paid for them.
Ok I have 5 —10 available for 10k each if it’s that important to you.
I have a friend in Australia.
SHE lives out far enough that it is a 3 hour trip one way to buy supplies.
She has had so many young males harassing her at her horse farm that she had to resort to finding 3 or 4 of the nastiest dogs she could find.
The intruders would also harass her horses.
Yeah, I wouldn’t want the government to have my guns. They might traffic them to drug gangs in Mexico.
I consider owning a gun your civic duty.
Because of this, to be responsible one must know and be proficient on how to use it.
Where is Brook’s gun? How many times has he gone to a gun range? How could he be so irresponsible?
The answer is “NO,!” David Brooks. And eff you very much.
True that
Hey fed...I’ve got some rifles for sale, a real bargain at $25,000,000 each!
😡😡😡
There won’t be a buyback.
There may be an attempt to seize
We know. BTW, I don't have anything for sale.
