The latest Supreme Court rulings make it clear: Our current constitution is ill-equipped to provide the necessary legal structures and framework of ideas necessary for democracy to flourish as an institution in the 21st century. This may be the real point of the latest rulings of our highest court. Rather than hold the position that the court ruled inappropriately, consider the argument that the court ruled correctly based upon the document they had at hand, namely, the United States Constitution.
During the 1970s and ’80s, conservative groups dreamed of holding a constitutional convention. Why? To write into our governing document ideas and governing beliefs that those on the right believed were missing. I suggest that rather than whine or complain about the court’s current rulings based on its constructivist view of law, why not instead use the energy of our modern times to construct a document that is reflective of a new constructivist view of the world that includes all of humanity, not just selected groups?

The constitution is quite clear on these issues. It is the courts that allow the government to twist and bend the law as they see fit. Rights clearly delineated in the constitution are applied and denied depending on political and institutional influence, religious dogma and ideological beliefs.
Neither side controls enough state legislatures to ratify an amendment of significant substance. Even it they did, activist judges would just twist the meaning to fit the will of an oppressive government as needed. The constitution isn't the problem, it's the failure to follow it.
Sure, well its about damn time you held that view because its exactly right. But your reluctance tells me something...you don't care if they follow the Constitution that we all agreed to, you want to rule like a damn dictatorship.
“framework of ideas necessary for democracy to flourish”
If the USA had been founded as a democracy, then he might have a point. It was founded as a republic, if we could keep it.
Well, he doesn’t have a point on second thought, since democracies never flourish. They descend into dictatorship.
No. What is needed right now is for these sociopathic lunatics to BE KICKED OUT OF OUR COUNTRY AND NEVER BE ALLOWED TO COME BACK.
They don’t want to live under our constitution so they need to get the boot and be set adrift on the ocean.
Constructivist = Postmodernist
Aka Classical Sophistry
Article V ping. The adversary speaks out.
Yeah, because this what they teach in our woke colleges nowadays. (sarc. off)
Or they could relax, sit back and enjoy the fact that they’re getting 95% of the stupid crap they want.
Wow.
After a few scotus decisions don’t go their way, and decades of scotus decisions amending the Constitution, the ignorant professor/author doesn’t mention that a thoroughly radical and rat-controlled Congress could send his proposed equity amendments to the states this coming week.
Barf article.
It is we who need one to take delegated (and usurped) powers back to the states. These recent rulings were SCOTUS giving back power it usurped, but it's clear from the reaction of Congress that they will never willingly follow suit (like repealing the 17th amendment).

How about a national divorce instead?
If it ain’t broke don’t fix it.
Here's the thing. If the author was paying close attention in civics class he'd know that the Constitution was written to create a republican form of government, not a "democracy". Hence his entire premise is incorrect.
Considering that the democrat-socialists have a pretty low collective IQ, just who to the propose to send to this Article V shindig? AOC?
“ Our current constitution is ill-equipped to provide the necessary legal structures and framework of ideas necessary for democracy to flourish as an institution”
Correct! Home run!
The PURPOSE of our Constitution is to PREVENT democracy, not to make it flourish.
I believe Constructivist is a leftist pejorative. A mash up of constructionist (as in strict constructionist) and activist. The left always projects.

Yeah. I think so.
It’s also, I looked it up, a Marxist educational theory.
This is what will happen under The Great Reset....a rewrite of the Constitution with all citizens participating online and able to offer their input.
Of course, those collating the opinions will be doing the actual writing.
When it works for them they are all for it
When it doesnt it must be scrapped
Frigging socialist hypocrites
I can’t imagine in my worst nightmare what a Constitution written by the American left would look like. It wouldn’t really matter because it would authorize the government to do anything it wanted to do at any time, to anyone, without or without a reason. It would be a license for fascism
