The SCOTUS Abortion Leak Backfired
Legal Insurrection ^ | Friday, June 24, 2022 at 02:48pm | William A. Jacobson

The shock of the ruling doesn’t seem to be there. Because it wasn’t a surprise.

Now that the Opinion overruling Roe v. Wade is out, the reaction while furious, seems like resignation. That’s not to say someone else won’t try to physically attack Justices or otherwise commit violence. It’s also not to say that Democrats won’t try to make it into an electoral issue, though I don’t think that will work (people angered at the opinion likely vote Democrat anyway).

But the shock of the ruling doesn’t seem to be there. Because it wasn’t a surprise. The leak took place on May 2. There have been almost eight weeks for it to percolate and for emotions to ripen. Yet those emotions, including the attempted assassination of Justice Brett Kavanaugh and attacks on pro-life groups, have created a backlash, with even the White House finally coming out against more violence.

Of course, the leak also didn’t change the result.

Whether the leaker ever is identified publicly remains to be seen. But the leak backfired by any objective measure.

The lasting legacy of the Trump Presidency are his SCOTUS picks. Well done!

They know who the leaker is, they are not telling us for a reason.

Will we ever learn who leaked it?

There are a very small number of people who would.have access to the draft opinion. Each of the 9 justices has a few court clerks. Then there are some “hired help” office workers.

From this very small group of people, someone decided to leak it.

I think it’s odd that the story of the leak has disappeared from the news media.

I think John Roberts knows who leaked it, but has chosen not to publicly state the results of the internal investigation.

If the final outcome did change, the Supreme Court would have lost all credibility.

Roberts will only reveal the leaker if that person is a clerk. If it is instead a Justice, we will never know about it.

Not so sure the leak was a bad thing.
No it shouldn’t have happened , but the effect of it doesn’t appear to overall have been bad.

Biden is hoping for a conservative Justice meeting with a ‘tragic death.’ He will not hesitate to appoint a liberal judge.

Maybe the leak was a CON that FUSED a fizzle instead of a BOOM.

If the House goes GOP in this years’ midterm election and fireeaters are named to run it, Roberts can be forced to disclose the results of his investigation. If it was one of the justices though, that would give Biden another Court nomination, so the issue probably ought to be deferred until we have a GOP president.

If the leaker was Roberts or someone on the Conservative side the name would be released. It must be a DemocRAT.

WE WANT THE NAME!

John Roberts is the leaker. He has been compromised and is being blackmailed. Someone has hard evidence against him. Pedophilia comes to mind.

I think the leaker is Roberts himself or he authorized the leak which is the same thing imo

I think it’s odd that the story of the leak has disappeared from the news media.

The press functions as butt boys for white liberal 'elites'. That bias is why two newspapers a week fail - close their doors forever.

News and corruption flow down from the top papers to death at the bottom.

The fact this story disparaged is because the story hurts democrats...

The SCOTUS and the Just Us Department are not in any hurry to get to the "bottom of this."

And with the rabid insane protesting by the Left over the end of R.v.W., the leaker is not newsworthy anymore.

I stated this on another thread, that the intentional criminal leak came out too soon before SCOTUS spanked R.v.W.

Too much time passed, too much energy and histrionics already expended, to give any after-SCOTUS protesting and burning and rioting and hysteria any legs.

And the black female population that statistically are the ones getting the lion-share of abortions in America, couldn't be bothered to put down the TV remote or kick their rando-dick-of-the-moment to the curb.

A bunch of whiny white liberal womyn and beta-cuck simp white males (including many politicians and bureaucrats), talking heads and pollsters, are the ones doing the "protesting," I guess, on their behalf.

What has become clear is that there are relatively few violent protesters (what they were hoping for) in contrast to the majority of us who are concerned about the bleak economic landscape in this country. That must be a frightening concept to Dems seeking electoral victories.

"Whether the leaker ever is identified publicly remains to be seen."

Yes, but note how efficiently, rapidly, ruthlessly, and thoroughly agents of the Federal Government identified the US citizens who protested peacefully on January 6, expressing their God-given and Constitution-recognized inalienable rights to assemble peaceably and petition the government for redress of their grievances.

Government agents can be spectacularly efficient when they want to be.

They can also be unbelievably (literally) incompetent when that serves their purposes.
