American drivers will have to endure high gas prices for “as long as it takes” for Ukraine to defeat Russia’s invasion, President Biden told reporters in Spain Thursday.
At the conclusion of this week’s NATO summit in Madrid, the president was asked by New York Times reporter Jim Tankersley about the surging price of oil as a result of Western sanctions on Russia in response to its Feb. 24 assault.

Being SPR is at a record low, Gov’t will be buying oil this fall. That won’t help. I’m even surprised by the propaganda angle, seems self-defeating in the long run. Gee, are you starving? That’s too bad, but Ukraine....really?! Naturally they’ll lose support for Ukraine over time, even from their base, with this line.
Normally, I'd call Biden a flat-out liar. But yeah, 3% of our oil came from Russia... until Biden killed domestic supplies that President Trump worked hard to ensure we had plenty of oil. Biden is going to work hard to ensure we have no domestic oil, not even in our Strategic Reserves (and Russia is laughing at Biden).
