It’s the same as the “mask” theology.
Strike fear into the middle class.

That is very interesting.
In my historical search of Fake News, it goes back to around 1880 or so.
It might go even farther back.

Exactly. On that alone he needs to be impeached.

The high gas prices were not caused by the Russia/Ukraine war - any further increase in gas prices that may have occurred were negligible from the already rapid increase caused by Biden’s policies - and even the increase caused by the Russia/Ukraine conflict was due to Biden making us more vulnerable to foreign affairs in our energy supplies.

And why would companies invest billions in new infrastructure if, in as little as 4 years, another person could come along and cancel all of their permits, making the investments a total loss? Biden may have made this situation permanent. Even if Trump or someone else gets in and reverses all of Biden’s policies, why would anyone take the risk it couldn’t happen again?

Has his handlers walked this back yet?

I suspect they will — soon.

One would think, this is a horrible comment.

What an a$$hole.

Gas prices were high before Russia went into Ukraine.

And anybody with half a brain knows why Joe is pushing the Ukraine thing.

” and even the increase caused by the Russia/Ukraine conflict was due to Biden making us more vulnerable to foreign affairs in our energy supplies”

I heard most of his answer to the question. At some point he started talking about somehow imposing a cap on the price of oil that Russia sells. I could only yell at the radio about India and China.

Just guessing... but I’m reasonably certain that in 1860 there was no conflation of the third person singular and plural pronouns.

Ukraine sure got their moneys worth in bribing Biden. We have no stake in their fight. None. But we spent $40 billion on their fight and nothing on our southern border. Joe O’Biden is a traitor to his country.

The 40 billion is what we know was spent. For every dollar that we know was spent, A hundred dollars we don’t know was spent. That is how the Democrats roll. And the Worship Biden Brigade [and they are Legion] on here [Free Republic] approves every penny that was spent or re-directed to the Democrat National Committee.

Russians feel the impact of Western economic measures, but it’s far from unbearable

The Russian economy is currently experiencing unprecedented pressure from a group of countries led by the United States, with more than 10,000 sanctions imposed on the country, its citizens, and companies.

Never before has such a volume of penalties been imposed on any one country. Even Iran, which has been the West’s geopolitical punching bag for many years now, is “only” subject to about 3,600.

Sanctions pressure on Russia has been growing since 2014, when key sectors of the economy - energy, the military-industrial complex, and the financial sector - were targeted. Since then, the country’s citizens have learned to distinguish between the dire predictions associated with sanctions and the tangible results of their implementation. While, in 2015, about 60% of Russians didn’t believe sanctions had any impact on their lives, by 2020, almost 90% said they felt no effects.

In short, people adjusted and became accustomed to the threats. Unemployment didn’t grow and even sat at historically low levels. Low inflation made many banking products such as consumer loans and mortgages affordable, helping to fuel a real estate boom in some parts of the country.

Comment: Putin has faith in his countryman as mature adults. He is not afraid to explain his governments policies to them in plain language, and ha been rewarded with a level of support that Western leaders can only dream of.
