Bed Bath & Beyond is making its customers and employees sweat these days.
(…)
“It’s not surprising that they might look for incremental ways to save money, because the sales trends are not going in their favor,” said M Science analyst, John Tomlinson. “Our data looks pretty negative” for the company and “people are clearly expecting sales to be weak tomorrow.”

Why would anyone go out in the heat of summer to roast in a B and B store, when they can sit at home in the air conditioning and order online, from a wide variety of vendors?
Go stupid woke...go all out broke!
Employees may stay away too. Lots of jobs in air conditioned places are going begging these days.
Those stores get pretty warm in the summer.
Good luck with that.
This may be a trend though, as energy prices continue to
go up up up...
you mean turning up...
down would just make it colder ;)
I used to love Bed Bath and Beyond years and years ago. They had great products, especially the quirky bedware company Nick & Nora — great stuff. They really began to slide (curiously) right about the time Obama took office. Now, they have the feel of a KMart, and they seem to hire the lowest of the low.
I’d already decided I wouldn’t shop there once they booted Mike Lindell’s My Pillow stuff.
Same as WalMart dropping My Pillow. Screw them both. I just ordered slipper from My Pillow. I won’t get anything from WalMart unless I absolutely have to.
B. B. & B. should start training their employees to say, “Thank you,” to its customers.
I always want to go into unAC stores in 100 degree weather. If I want to sweat while shopping, I’d take my computer into the sauna and online shop. 🤓
They will lose customers and the executives who made this decision will keep their high salaries.
Bed, Bath, and B.O.
Actually, it’s a brilliant business move. Get your customers all hot and sweaty, then offer them a dip in a nice cool, relaxing whirlpool bath and hardsell them. haha
Then again, it could just be that they are cheapskates. LOL
BO is always a good retail move.
This is retail—employees will just no show on hot days and not care if they are fired.
You're right - good catch.
Their gonna take a bath...
“you mean turning up...”
I was citing the article. Technically you are correct but common usage prevails.
I don’t shop there anyway.
Even with the 20% coupon, their stuff is too expensive and the pet section is down to one shelf.
No reason to go, now.
/and I’ve never seen Christopher Walken there, either
Most of our local ones went out of business a year or more ago.
The remining few have cut back their hours drastically and when I drive by them to get to stores I actually use, their parking lot is either empty or nearly so.
