The Constitution Was Literally Written By Slaveowners. Why Is America Obsessed With Upholding It?
The Root ^ | June 28, 2022 | Candace McDuffie

Last week, the Supreme Court eviscerated a woman’s right to abortion, undermined Miranda rights, expanded gun rights and allowed border patrol agents to operate with even further impunity. Today, it ruled that a former Washington state high school football coach can pray on the field immediately after games—regardless of the religious backgrounds of the students.

Abortion was promoted and developed by Planned Parenthood with the expressed purpose of reducing the black population.

Why are Liberals so intent in upholding such a RACIST, BIGOTTED and inhumane practice?

Why are white elitist liberals so intent in keeping the black population down?

In America everyone is the same, everyone has the same rights, everyone has the same opportunities. Racists, open up your minds.

Have the marxists succeeded in the destruction of our republic?
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>.
Call them Marxists or Democrats, makes no difference. They’re damn close to achieving that goal! If they manage to steal two more elections, one in 2022 and one in 2024, our Constitutional Republic will be gone.

No Constitution, no nation.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>..
The Marxists/Democrats envision a new nation with a new constitution making the enslavement (or execution) of everyone not a card-carrying member of their regime perfectly legal! The history of the Bolshevik Revolution is their instruction booklet!

Well they would have to have a convention to pass it, or impose it by main force.
That means we get a say.

Not quite.

The Constitution is the charter for our republican form of government. Without it, we would revert back to a nation of 50 sovereign states, each with its own Constitution.

GOD made her black.

No one else had anything to do with it.

God made her black but it was the Communist/Democrat Party that made her STUPID and RACIALLY BIGOTED!

So was everything in those days. So what? Even as slaveowners those guys were a lot smarter than you are.

"The Founders must be horrible, because this country is horrible."

Whenever I get a chance to ask one of these idiots who trots out this idea (which is now uniformly taught in public schools across the country), I ask one question. "Compared to what?" The responses are seldom coherent.

The first slaveholder was black. That makes slavery a black problem started by black people. 1621 Anthony Thomas wins the right to hold John Casor past the termination date of his indenturement.

For 15 years only blacks could hold other blacks as slaves. Johnson himself was an indentured servant, but after did well for himself and obtained 250 acres using indentured servants to work his land. To be very clear, Johnson sued Robert Parker, a freedman who had agreed to employ Casor after his indenturement was fulfilled, to ‘take back’ Casor and extend his indenturement INDEFINITELY.

It wasn’t until 1636 that Whites and Indians won the right to hold black people as slaves. Unlimited term indenturement was the legal novelty for which Johnson should be more famous, but is not.

Slavery, brought to black people by black people.

Isn’t that pretty much the same as saying there would be no United States?

Not necessarily. We had the United States before and after the Articles of Confederation, too.

The Declaration of Independence laid out the founding principles of the United States, namely that we are endowed by our Creator with certain inalienable rights, that we choose to be ose to be led by the consent of the governed, and that when the government becomes tyrannical it is the right of the people to throw it off and institute another.

Johnson?

How does he fit in with Thomas and Casor?

Yeah, yeah and all that 400 years BS. 49/64 of the founding fathers ‘owned’ slaves. Gee.

That shoulda been a lock on getting Representation for Congress based on population, then. But how come they come up with this 3/5ths to count blacks thingy, then?

There was a dynamic going on back that that had little to do with blacks except how they affected agriculture and economics in the South and how the North wanted to maintain control.

Oh, and I left out the most important founding principle: that we are all created equal.

Who care who wrote it? It only matters WHAT they wrote. So show me the words in the constitution that are objectionable or in any way unfair or relate to slavery. Tick tock…

What an ignorant view of the constitution.

Part of the success of the Constitution was that it could be amended so that women’s suffrage (sorry to the mouth breathing dumbs of the country who think women should not be able to vote), freedom of slaves via the 13th Amendment, etc.

The Founders were not perfect. Jefferson knew this better than most when he characterized the institution of slavery as holding a wolf by the ears - “We can neither hold him, nor safely let him go”. There were imperfect sections of the US Constitution that could be improved. THAT is the genius of Constitution.

Looking at one of the links you provided it says this:

"The clause itself was stricken out at the request of delegates from South Carolina, and Georgia, but with the agreement of New England states."

This is what you originally said:

"In both the 1770's when the Declaration was being debated and signed by delegates from the 13 states, and later in the 1780's with the Constitution, 11 of the 13 states were willing to start the nation with slavery outlawed.

These two things do not mesh together. If you have no further proof, it appears you extrapolated quite a bit from 2 delegates asked that it be removed.

This does not at all imply that all the other states were in favor of it.

To say it was only 2 states that caused it to be removed is a stretch. It may be that 2 states objected first, but it would seem quite reasonable to believe that if they had not, one of the other remaining slave states would have done.

we don’t even need to point out that Jefferson freed the salves he held.

Jefferson died a slave owner. He took slave Sally Hemings as his unofficial second wife. She was the half-sister of his deceased first wife. Jefferson freed about ten slaves in his lifetime or in his will. They were all members of the Hemings family.

Alexander Hamilton didn’t own slaves.

Alexander Hamilton died a slave owner. He did not free his dozens of slaves.

https://www.jamesmadisonmuseum.org/slavery.html

After Madison's death, in 1836, Dolley Madison returned to Washington to live out the last years of her life. Financial conditions forced her to sell Montpelier in two parts (1842 and 1844). In order to keep the slave families together Dolley Madison chose to sell them along with the farm. However she retained some slaves for her use in Washington. These slaves were freed upon her death because of her failure to register them in the city. The historical record is not clear whether this was an error of omission or commission.
