23 million Californians to get gas relief payments after budget deal struck, state leaders say

Millions of California taxpayers will get “inflation relief” payments after lawmakers have reached an agreement on the framework of the 2022-23 budget. The deal also suspends the state's sales tax on diesel.

The framework includes giving 23 million Californians direct payments of up to $1,050. The payments would be issued via direct deposit refunds or debit cards to tax filers by late October.

Single filers who make less than $75,000 would get $350. Joint filers with an income under $150,000 would receive $700. If they have at least one dependent, they will receive an additional $350.

So for example, that means a married couple earning $100,000 per year with one child would get $1,050.

About 82% of the state's beneficiaries are in this income level.

Single filers who make $75,001 to $125,000 would get $250. Joint filers with an income between $150,001 and $250,000 would receive $500. If they have at least one dependent, they will receive an additional $250.

Here's what else is in the deal: Beginning on Oct. 1, the state will suspect the diesel sales tax, which is now 23 cents per gallon, for 12 months.

This isn’t relief.

It’s a bribe.

Considering the amount, Deep State clearly doesn’t think much of the people it’s attempting to buy.

It’ll cost more in administrative costs than what they are granting in discounts. Californians’ income taxes will rise to make up the cost or some other program will be cut. Nothing costs nothing.

Thanks for the chuckle—

It was my thought exactly when I saw the headline:

“”23 million Californians to get gas relief payments””

But I was left confused when I saw that only 23 million of the 37 million CA residents were going to get free gas-x.

The state which confiscates money “gives” some of the confiscation back, and expects applause. Stupid liberals will cheer. For two minutes.

“Single filers who make less than $75,000 would get $350.”

...that’ll fix it. ~sarc Gas prices are double + since Trump. My truck went from $45 to $110 to fill. Simple math. $350=3 fill ups, tops. There are plenty of dip s**** that’ll be lovin’ this though. Plenty.,

So my leaders in California are going to try and bribe me with my own money. LOL!!! I’ll happily take back some of what they extorted from me in the first place and not feel the least bit guilty about it.

The Leftist has created the mess. It was completely avoidable. Now they want to send you back money that they have already pissed away! Kommiefornia Ian’s are ok with this apparently.

California has a budget surplus and is sitting on cash. To refund some is easily accomplished

How ever....... an absence of water and electric power in the midst of dried up farms and wild fires can’t be remedied
