In the absence of a serious foreign policy and an economic plan not involving massive tariffs – and in the absence of a rational and decent candidate – pro-Trump advocates have fallen back on one argument and one argument only: he’ll be better for the Supreme Court.
---
Hillary’s justices will cripple Constitutional interpretation on religious freedom, gun rights, and freedom of speech, among other crucial issues.
---
There is only one problem: there is no shot – zero shot – that Trump will appoint a conservative.

Shapiro has always been a helium sucker
But the rest of the guys on the Daily Wire are cool.
Yes, Ben needs to do a Mia Culpa on this.
I think deep down a lot of us had doubts about Trump during the campaign, I didn’t support him at first, over time he grew on me and by election day I was 100% MAGA.
Compared to recent Republican Presidents he stayed true to his campaign promises more than anyone with the possible exception of Reagan and that is even debatable.
Except that he did.
I thought Trump would be a Rockefeller Republican.
Voted for him anyway.
Happy to be so wrong.
He's already said he was wrong about this and other things many times over - for years now. He endorsed Trump's re-election saying he had indeed been reliable on this and other issues.
And I had doubts about Trump’s SCOTUS picks until the Dobbs ruling was leaked. I honestly expected 1+ Roberts would side with the Left.
I’m happy to stand corrected.
Except he has many times over.
... and this is about as wrong as someone could be.
Try this again.
Trump: I’ll appoint Supreme Court justices to overturn Roe v. Wade abortion case

Donald Trump said the overturning of the landmark Supreme Court decision giving women the right to abortion “will happen, automatically,” if he is elected president and gets to appoint justices to the high court.
“I am pro-life,” Trump said during Wednesday night’s presidential debate when asked whether he wanted that decision, Roe v. Wade, reversed by the Supreme Court.
Trump said that if the ruling were to be reversed, laws on the legality or illegality of abortion would “go back to the individual states” to decide, which was the case prior to Roe v. Wade.
But when moderator Chris Wallace pressed him on whether he wanted the ruling overturned.
Trump said, “That will happen, automatically in my opinion!” because he would get to nominate potentially several justices to the court.
In response, Hillary Clinton said, “I strongly support Roe v. Wade.”
“I will defend Roe v. Wade, I will defend a woman’s right to make her own decision,” Clinton said.
She criticized Trump for having said in the past that a woman should be punished if she got an abortion when it was made illegal.
Trump fired back, saying Clinton was in favor of partial-birth abortions being legal, which meant that a fetus could be “ripped out” of a mother’s womb a day before she was due to give birth.

Not on this issue.
I wish I had written that.
Haha. Good post.
More evidence against this squeaky-voiced dweeb.
Well it isn’t like we had no reason to doubt it. Long time pro-abortion positions - including partial birth abortion - nothing ambiguous and it is on tape. He attacked conservatives - by name - over healthcare, saying we needed government funded, universal healthcare “get used to it conservatives! We’re going to take care of everybody!” He shouted this at one of his first rallies. He reiterated his desire for government universal health coverage in an interview with Scott Pelley. He supported amnesty for illegal immigrants - literally up until the point he decided to run as a Republican. It’s on tape. He blasted Mitt Romney for being too tough on immigration and said that probably caused him to lose. He openly supported Kelo v. Connecticut - that really cast doubt as to who he would pick for judges. He said all of these things and much more. A reasonable person could draw the conclusion he would not govern as a conservative. However, the reality is that he did end up doing so - a reality that cannot be denied.
I guess when it doubt, just make it up.

Takes all of 5 seconds to find this with a basic search with the words “Ben Shapiro Gorsuch Nomination”. Ben Shapiro even wore a “Make America Great Again” cap. This was literally less than 2 weeks after Trump took office. “I was wrong...I have never been happier to be wrong.” - Ben Shapiro, 2/2/2017
That didn’t age well...
