There is nothing in the Constitution about abortion, and the Constitution does not implicitly protect the right.
pelosi says ‘we will not let this pass”.
Now that it will go back to the states, it’s time for all of us to roll our sleeves up and join/rejoin/redouble the fight. We’ve still got work to do. We may not be able to completely eradicate abortion, but even one baby saved is worth it.
Agreed
As long as they want. Usually a nominee is appointed to a seat that is already vacant so assuming the seat is automatic on confirmation. In this case she was appointed to replace Bryer, who is remaining on the bench until the end of the session. So it could be October before Jackson joins the bench or some time over the summer if Breyer resigns. Since the decisions have been released he could well do that.
pelosi - “republicans packed the court”
It's my understanding that Roberts assigns the opinion, and could have written the majority opinion himself. Yet, choosing Alito to write the majority opinion is sort of how Roberts is trying to have it both ways, agreeing, but not fully agreeing. He obviously knows that a concurring opinion has no additional legal authority.
All I can say is God bless each of these six brave justices who have faced vicious opposition to do what was right. And while Mitch McConnell is not the most popular person around here, and for good reason, he did right by America by keeping Garland off the Court. I don't believe Roberts would have joined the majority if his vote really mattered.
Commerce Clause.
Crippling the EPA would be the trifecta.
Yes, so does my state of Alabama.
Yes, I realized finally that Breyer hasn’t left yet. I was confounded by the 6-3 vote when I didn’t see the new one’s name. I’m slow until about noon.
"No doubt there are cases in which the proper application of federal law may hinge on interpretations of state law. Unavoidably, this Court must sometimes examine state law in order to protect federal rights. But we have dealt with such cases ever mindful of the full measure of respect we owe to interpretations of state law by a State’s highest court. . . "
LOFL. Ruth Buzzi must have nearly burst into flame composing that obesiance to the 10th Amendment.

pelosi -”getting back to the gun issue - senate yay!”
“Trumpian SC” blah blah
Why, does her husband's gal pal need an abortion? They're legal in CA, she has no worries.
They do HOWEVER Stephens retirement does not take effect until the end of this court session!!
Then on to school reform :)
Now, could you also be a good boy and tell me that this won’t enrage the mushy-middle and soccer moms and convince them to vote Democrat come November. ‘Preciate it.
To our God be the glory!
He stays until the end of his term and she will replace him then.
