A New York Times guest essay argued that American gun culture has been made all the more fanatical because of its ties to Christianity. It also claimed that Christianity makes mass shootings more possible. Author Peter Manseau, a religious author, wrote in his Thursday piece, "But many of our fellow citizens don’t just own guns, they believe in them. They believe the stories told about guns’ power, their necessity, their righteousness."
Manseau theorized that this is what has happened at the intersection of American Christianity and the Second Amendment. He opened his opinion piece with the question, "Is our gun problem a God problem?"

More outright slander about Christianity from the media
Well then ....
The New York Times and their readers will love Satan’s anti-messiah.
Hang on, anti-christianity childrens.
The god of this world is going to give you exactly what you want.
Enjoy it and all that comes in those 7 years.
Agreed, they don’t even hide their sadistic hatred any more. I ask a simple question. Who in the N.T. says such a thing? What scripture addresses guns? I do recall Jesus saying if someone strikes you turn the other cheek. If they take your cloak do not stop them from taking your tunic.
some quotes from my file.
“Every Communist must grasp the truth: Political power grows out of the barrel of a gun.” Mao Zedong
Our principle is that the Party commands the gun, and the gun must never be allowed to command the Party.” Mao Zedong
“A revolution is not a dinner party, or writing an essay, or painting a picture, or doing embroidery. It cannot be so refined, so leisurely and gentle, so temperate, kind, courteous, restrained and magnanimous. A revolution is an insurrection, an act of violence by which one class overthrows another.” Mao Zedong, The Little Red Book, 1964
(Anita Dunn admitted she rather liked MZ.)
“Armas para que?” (translated: “Guns, for what?”) by Fidel Castro
"The only good bureaucrat is one with a pistol at his head. Put it in his hand and it's good-by to the Bill of Rights." H.L. Mencken
"Before a standing army can rule, the people must be disarmed; as they are in almost every kingdom in Europe. The supreme power in America cannot enforce unjust laws by the sword; because the whole body of the people are armed, and constitute a force superior to any band of regular troops that can be, on any pretence, raised in the United States. A military force, at the command of Congress, can execute no laws, but such as the people perceive to be just and constitutional; for they will possess the power, and jealousy will instantly inspire the inclination, to resist the execution of a law which appears to them unjust and oppressive."
Noah Webster, An Examination of the Leading Principles of the Federal Constitution (Philadelphia 1787)
Let’s be clear. ASKING gun owners to give up their guns is insulting. DEMANDING that we give them up is going to get someone hurt.
I realize the words above are strong. That is intentional. I am trying to convey to gun control advocates and the Mainstream Media the seriousness of what they are doing and the indelicate manner in which they are approaching the issue. DEMANDING that an American citizen give up a constitutional right is bad enough, but demanding that he give up a constitutional right upon which his freedom and his very life may depend is the ultimate insult and is nothing less than an assault on the constitution itself. This we cannot, we will not, abide.
A note to our national legislators-- Those of you supporting gun control legislation should understand it will be a career-ending move on your part. We will brook no such unpleasant nonsense from you.
Gun owners did not seek this fight. We most certainly did not initiate it. Too, we are sick, ad nauseum, of your continuous attacks on our way of life, on our constitutional as well as God given rights as American citizens, and we are sick, beyond words, of your elitist attitude. JD Longstreet

It would be much easier if the left would simply make up a list of things they found acceptable, and everything else would be considered racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, violent, extremist...it would probably be a short list.
(Probably about 99.0% wrong.)
Add .999 to that...
😜
Yeah, I was thinking of some sort of fraction...
I don’t disagree...
And so, it’s all those Christians in Chicago, Baltimore, Philly, and DC killing each other, right? Got it.
Where do they find these loons?
"In 2000, the General Assembly reaffirmed the church’s commitment to gun control and called for strengthening gun ownership legislation.(5)
In 2008, the General Assembly approved pastoral recommendations urging that:
all persons buying guns at gun shows undergo a background check to close the gun show loophole in 35 states;
ban the sale and possession of large ammunition magazines and assault weapons that have no redeemable social purpose, and cannot legitimately be termed “sporting guns”;
support the introduction of new technologies, such as micro-stamping in which identifying information from a gun is transferred onto bullet cartridges, which allow law enforcement to more easily trace guns and solve crimes; and
stop illegal arms sales by the United States and others.(6)..."

Luke 22:36-38
King James Version
36 Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.
37 For I say unto you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished in me, And he was reckoned among the transgressors: for the things concerning me have an end.
38 And they said, Lord, behold, here are two swords. And he said unto them, It is enough.
