2024 poll: DeSantis edges Trump in New Hampshire, which holds the first presidential primary

A public opinion survey in New Hampshire, the state that for a century has held the first primary in presidential race, indicates that Florida Gov. Gov. Ron DeSantis has a razor-thin margin over former President Donald Trump in a hypothetical 2024 GOP primary match-up.

According to polling numbers released on Wednesday by the University of New Hampshire Survey Center, 39% of likely Republican primary voters in the Granite State would support the first-term Florida governor, with 37% backing the former president. Respondents were provided a list of potential contenders for the 2024 GOP presidential nomination, and DeSantis margin was well within the survey’s sampling error.

If that is the best you got, try making a point without projecting. Name calling is not exactly mature.

DeSantis might be a good man but the truth is his resume is very thin.

Not sure he could deal with the tsunami of hate he would have to deal with if he were the nominee.

I don’t make the decision, but you do not belong on this forum. It is for grown ups not name callers.

Thank you for confirming that you don’t really give a damn about winning in 2024 or advancing a conservative/MAGA agenda. That’s clearly not where your priorities lie…

“ Also, attending a rally isn’t a prerequisite for casting a vote.”

True, but it gives a general sense of voter enthusiasm. In Trump’s case even people who were never involved in politics were attending his rallies in large numbers. If that were a representative sample of enthusiasm it meant there also a very large number of people who were not at his rallies but very enthusiastic and going to vote.

“If you go away and come back 8 hours later there will be a new rintintin thread pushing DeSantis. There is never a time when rintintin isn’t pushing it. A sign of a paid troll...”

The leftwingers over at Daily Kos hate Trump & DeSantis.

So any “pink hat pussy” Republicans clutching their pearls about what the media is going to say about Trump & DeSantis better wise up.

Eventually pussy Republicans will have to face the fact that if you support Susan Collins for President.

You’re still a racist, nazi, sexist, destroyer of the environment.(Apparently these are the big issues for democrats & Biden republicans)

I cannot think of ANYONE WHO CARES LESS ABOUT WHAT THE MEDIA
“THINKS” ABOUT HIM,...IT IS WHAT THEY LIE ABOUT HIM THAT IS DISTRUBING.

But President Trump handles it with no WHINING OR CRYING.

Talk about GUP, he is a model.

During President Trump's term in office, the GOP had control of both houses of Congress until January of 2019, and THEY DID NOT GIVE HIM THE BILLS HE NEEDED TO ENACT HIS PROMISES.

“THEY DID NOT GIVE HIM THE BILLS HE NEEDED TO ENACT HIS PROMISES.”

And he responded by endorsing them all for reelection.

“Trump spent the first debate bragging about letting felons out of prison”

Not sure why Trump went on and on about prison reform. Didn’t pay much attention to it and generally dismissed it as ham-fisted pandering to the black vote. But with crime rising it’s a policy of his that isn’t aging well. On an issue here and there it seems like he wants liberal applause. Why did he host 2016 Hillary Clinton supporter Kim Kardashian at the White House on this issue?

So called gay rights is another one. He hosted the Log Cabin Republicans at Mar-a-Largo. Have found him suspect on this issue but looked the other way because he promised good judges and he delivered for the most part. Looks like his 3 SC judges will throw Roe out. And yet DeSantis is in the faces of liberals against transgender ideology in schools. He also picked a fight with Woke Disney.

Is Trump really still pushing being vaxxed and boosted as VAERS closes in on 30,000 deaths and what, ten times that in serious injuries? And who knows how many more are unreported or unrecognized?

Trump is easily the best President since Reagan. And yet his term contained disappointments and he remains deficient on more than one issue. Why is one cussed, or called a troll or threatened with attempts to deplatform if one simply wants to see if he remains fighting trim by debating 43-year-old in his prime DeSantis. Sorry, no coronation for Trump’s third nomination.

People here are kidding themselves if they think a couple of straw polls and now a New Hampshire poll of likely, not just registered Republicans, showing DeSantis ahead are not worthy of attention.

Assumed DeSantis made some kind of a statement saying he wouldn’t run if Trump runs again because it is said so often on these threads. Won’t believe it anymore until I see a link.

Trump spent the first debate bragging about letting felons out of prison and accusing Biden of being too tough on young hoodlums in the crime bill he sponsored in the 80s.

What kn earth are you babbling about, troll?
President Trump released VASTLY fewer prisoners from prison than Obama/Biden did.
It wasn't even close.
And the very few President Trump released from prison (like Alice Marie Johnson) fully deserved to be released. Look it up.
And stop trolling you Never Trumper troll.

Not sure why Trump went on and on about prison reform.

So tell us, just how many people did President Trump release from jail as compared to the HUGE number of felons released by Obama/Biden? Obama/Biden shattered all records in releasing vicious, dangerous felons from jail back into society to murder even more people.
Why do you insist on pushing a false narrative to push a Never Trump agenda?

DeSantis has indicated his inclination — a solid inclination, I think — to stay out of 2024. Florida needs a solid States rights Governor, and DeSantis is as much that guy as anyone in any Governor’s Office across the country. He’s done some good for Florida, and he needs more time down there to keep that trend going and growing. A run at the Oval Office in ‘24 would be a bit on the premature side, whereas in ‘28 he’d have a lot more hard evidence to translate his track record as FL Gov into Presidential campaign momentum.

Just my $.02
That and yer firstborn ‘ll getcha a tank a gas.

DeSantis learned a lot by watching Donald Trump. Do some here realize that DeSantis was a former House Rep? He has a record. Check it.

Iirc, he wasn’t bad but there was something that really ticked me off. I don’t remember what it was. (No, I’m not going to look up the info. If you want it, its there.)

People need to realize that dissing Trump will not stop what’s coming. The info will be released for all to see. If you have been complicit, you will be exposed for what you are and what you have done. Nothing will stop that from coming out. You will pay the price and it will be hell to pay. You’ve earned it.
