Why did Gov. Ron DeSantis refer to Elon Musk as an ‘African American’?
AS USA ^ | 17 June 2022 | William Gittins

Posted on 06/17/2022 5:18:18 AM PDT by Erik Latranyi

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis raised eyebrows on Wednesday when he referred to Elon Musk as an African American, thanking him for his support for the Republican Party.

Musk had tweeted that he had voted for a GOP candidate for the first time (Mayra Flores in South Texas) and added that he predicts a “massive red wave in 2022.” He said that he was unsure who his pick for president in 2024 would be but that he was leaning towards DeSantis, who is rumoured to be considering a presidential run.

In response to that, DeSantis told reporters: “I’m focused on 2022… But with Elon Musk, what I would say is, I welcome support from African Americans, what can I say?”

Good point. Idol worship tends to get in the way of objective thinking. That said, we’re fortunate to have both guys on our side. They are fighters.

assuming he’s a US citizen now, he was naturalized after immigrating thus becoming an American from Africa.

(i think his ancestry is UK/S.Africa/Canada)

DeSantis used the term correctly. A person born in the US with ancestory from Africa would be called an American, not an African American.

Two separate takes, both from the left, on DeSantis' quip the other day about Elon Musk and 'having the support of the African-American community'.

First, the whiny trigger-baby version, courtesy of msn.com. Why did DeSantis say this? Well, for starters, because it makes whiny people like this 'writer' sad.

His entire modus operandi seems to be revenge and getting even.

Getting even in his case means undoing the damage inflicted on us so far and preventing its repetition, ridding ourselves of those who did it.

As I recall, Teresa Heinz made a distinction between African-American and African American. I forget which one she claims to be and why there should be a difference.

Wikipedia cleverly avoids the issue by calling her Portuguese-American as she was born in Mozambique when it was a Portuguese colony.

I caught hell years ago when I told the dad of a bright Egyptian born 8th grader that she should apply fot the free special prep classes for the NYC specialized HS wxam. The classes were being offered ONLY to African Americand and Latinos. This girl was whiter than me. Once she applied the shockwaves went all the way to the Chancellor’s office. I caught hell from my principal and the district superintendent. Anyway she went to the classes and made Bronx Science. So I felt a bit of kinship with DeSantis when I read his comment.

Well, that is not going to happen with Senators like Oz or a Speaker like McCarthy....both of which Trump endorsed.

“Trump’s endorsements this cycle are another problem.”

I am not blind. I know these have been a problem. However, I said he is not prefect (no one is). But even with his imperfections he still was one of the best Presidents in history of our nation. I also believe he would restore the economy the fastest.

“I understand that and feel he did get cheated, but he needs to let it go.”

This attitude by Freepers is the most aggravating. The election was stolen (not what he feels), the country is being destroyed by a demented old fool’s handlers and appointments. We are a banana republic and all you guys say is, “let it go.”

Here is what you expect conservative to let go...

Election Fraud Evidence (a lot of it can be proven if an effort was made)
Dropbox videos being destroyed early
Laws ignored to allow illegal Absentee Voting
Absentee Ballot images being destroyed
Absentee Ballot envelopes shredded
Political prisoners being held without bail
Presidential Coup attempts by a political Party / Intel Agencies
Phony Dossier
Phony 2-year Mueller Investigation (AG Barr wife’s church buddy)
Country’s Intelligence Service used as a Political Weapon
Phony Impeachments
Corrupt Media working in conjunction with a political party / Intel Agencies
FBI Spying the on President
FBI spying on it’s citizens
Weaponized DOJ that goes after political enemies of one party
DOJ that will not prosecute crimes against one party
Facebook’s $440,000,000 election funds to support the steal
Big Tech Censorship
Judicial System afraid to tackle fraud
The illegally formed Jan 6th Committee & Hearings
Taking away your 2A rights
etc...

I will probably vote for Trump if he wins the nomination, but I really am having second thoughts about supporting him when we do have better candidates like DeSantis or Rand Paul. <<

I bet you are...lol...you seem to like “politicians”.....they know how to put lipstick on a pig so you would date one ..

they'd sweep all the “Treason” of the FBI CIA DOJ and all the other alphabet agencies under the rug....and you could pretend the swamp had been drained...Thats basically the difference between a Patriot and a politician...

Born in Africa. Makes him African. To Americans we almost always link Africa to a color or race. Ain’t so

I laud the DeSantis observation and the stellar work he's doing in Florida. As a Georgian in RINO-land, I wish there was some way we could throw out the corrupt unKempt and Rattsenberger and put in DeSantis.

Trump is laying low today on purpose. He's not out there tweeting every day because being falsely attacked is a better strategy for him right now.

Believe me, when the time is right, he'll come out like gangbusters.

I hope DeSantis is our President in 2028, but TODAY he's a MAGA Duke compared to the Ultra MAGA KIng. Consider this:

How soon we forget the stellar RESULTS the ULTRA MAGA King achieved against all odds.
