Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis raised eyebrows on Wednesday when he referred to Elon Musk as an African American, thanking him for his support for the Republican Party.
Musk had tweeted that he had voted for a GOP candidate for the first time (Mayra Flores in South Texas) and added that he predicts a “massive red wave in 2022.” He said that he was unsure who his pick for president in 2024 would be but that he was leaning towards DeSantis, who is rumoured to be considering a presidential run.
In response to that, DeSantis told reporters: “I’m focused on 2022… But with Elon Musk, what I would say is, I welcome support from African Americans, what can I say?”

Answer: because he is an African-American. Any other questions?
MSNBC has to explain the simplest concepts to their readers. They also try to tie the apartheid system of government in South Africa to Elon Musk as if a grammar school kid ran the show.
Keep pushing at it and use their own words against them.
If they say gender and race is relative then make them own up to it.
Why are people so stupid that they have to ask why? It was a clever response from DeSantis.
Trump was by far the best president for American middle class, since I arrived in USA 62 years ago to work on master’s degree in engineering. DeSantis is also MAGA but with better political skills than Trump.
Public school unionized teachers have succeeded in dumbing down of many Americans.
I can’t wait to see DeDantis debating Brandon or Kamala in 2024 presidential runs.
I’m a lilly-white guy born in NY. I’m a Native American. I checked that box on some stupid company HR survey, their head almost exploded.
Didn't the RNC already say that they wouldn't participate in any debates?
For those who don't know, Elon Mush was born in Africa and came over to the United States. Thus he is technically an "African-American."
Many people, mostly on the Left, refer to blacks as "African-Americans" thinking they are being politically correct. But the fact is, most black people do not come from Africa. They were born right here in America. Which makes them Americans. Not "African-Americans."
Some of my ancestors came from Ireland but I was born in the United States. So I don't go around calling myself "Irish-American" just because my great-great grandparents came from Ireland. That's just silly. I do like to listen to Celtic music, eat shepherd pie and drink my Guinness so I guess not all the Irish has been bred out of me.
Actually Musk holds triple citizenship. African, Canadian and American.
Oh, whoa is me...
Yeah…the same people who thought The Apprentice was how businesses are run.
*ZING!* :)
Showing his allegiance with the young, fresh, deft GOP grift contingent. That’s another reason - besides catholic - that I am not a big fan of his. Sleazy grifters enable and make excuses for illegal immigration, drug trafficking (I’ll bet I know who it was who offered M Cawthorn some cocaine), and interfering in other states’ elections.
“Negro troopies?”
Wow. You must be pretty old. I haven’t heard that term in 40 years—and it was dated back then.
WHOA is for Horses.
THANK YOU, VA, FOR SAYING WHAT I’M THINKING.
I see NO...NO signs in Trump that Eric sees. He must need glasses.
I concur.
Lol....thanks. I actually typed wow first but forgot the whoaaaaaaaa nilly
