The Zelensky aide said he feared that Scholz, Macron and Draghi “will try to get a Minsk III. They will say that we need to end the war that is causing food problems and economic problems, that Russians and Ukrainians are dying, that we need to save Mr Putin’s face, that the Russians made mistakes and that we need to forgive and give them a chance to return to world society.”
Germany’s leading center-right daily Die Welt commented: “Kyiv is beginning to have doubts about the solidarity of the West. Voices are being raised calling for peace efforts. In particular, a statement by NATO chief Stoltenberg points to a change of course.”
Die Welt referred to a June 12 speech in which NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg stated: “The question is: what price are you willing to pay for peace? How much territory? How much independence? How much sovereignty? How much freedom? How much democracy are you willing to sacrifice for peace? And that’s a very difficult moral dilemma.”
It’s possible that Biden’s instincts for political survival may take precedence over the ideological priorities of his Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Undersecretary of State Victoria Nuland, the architect of the 2014 Maidan Square coup that set the present tragedy in motion.
We do not know what the Biden Administration will do in the face of this double disaster, to be sure. At this point, it probably doesn’t know, either. The choices, though, are stark and clear: Either climb down off the ledge or plunge into a world recession and a spiraling strategic crisis.

I want Anthony to send Biden to the corn field.
So, they are going to end up doing what should have been done in the first place?
exactly
“Either climb down off the ledge or plunge into a world recession and a spiraling strategic crisis.”
The Biden Entity is ideologically committed to the second option. Anything they propose as a solution will make things worse. At this point, avoiding an all-out nuclear exchange is a win.
According to the Ukrainian source in the OP things did not go well for the Euro trio (Macron/Scholz/Draghi) in their meeting with Zelensky.

Our source in the OP said that Macron / Scholz / Draghi today received an experienced politician as opponents, who parried all their arguments and remained unconvinced. Timeo Danaos et dona ferentes (from Latin - “Fear the Danes who bring gifts “) this is how the leaders of France / Germany / Italy can be characterized today who came to convince Zelensky to resume negotiations with Russia and agree to Turkey’s plan to export grain from Odessa ports. The President of Ukraine rejected all the proposals of the EU leaders and asked to increase military assistance, and not waste time on empty negotiations.

source in the OP said that Macron / Scholz / Draghi urged Zelensky to compromise with Russia. It is suggested that the plan of Italy, which was presented a few weeks ago, be taken as a formula.

But I thought Ukraine was winning?
Someone might want to tell the Euro-Peeings that that ship appears to have already sailed, and that Russia is no longer interested in being part of Europe or their one-world society.
They got everything they need, thank you very much.
They'll get the memo, eventually.
Whatever the outcome of the UKE war a new Cold War between the Russian-Chinese Entente and the NATO-US block appears to be a certainty. This will be an interesting conflict as China has already broken out of any Pacific cordon sanitaire into the South Pacific and Africa. China will take advantage of providing major assistance in rearming and upgrading all military capabilities and encouraging as much NATO-Russian friction as possible. If Sweden and Finland and NATO do move forward to incorporate those states into NATO at the end of this year an intense and not so cold reaction will ensue,
After $60B+ pi$$ed away, our weapons and ammunition stores shot and given away. $60B, a small down payment. Remember, we are now committed to defending Ukraine and rebuilding the damage (think Iraq corruption). Even more ridiculous, we will fortify and defend an additional 800 miles of new deadbeat allied border along the Finnish, Swedish, Russian border. Plus, as usual with neocon incursions, thousands of additional, unnecessary Ukrainian and Russian deaths. DC outdid itself on this catastrophe.
Danaos means Greeks.
Article states.....”The President of Ukraine (Zelnsky) rejected all the proposals of the EU leaders and asked to increase military assistance, and not waste time on empty negotiations.”...........
Once again Zelensky refuses to negotiate because what he wants isn’t going to happen. He and his leadership wanted a World War against Putin - want NATO and EU membership yet they can’t fight without weapons and revenue from other countries.
He’ll be cut off with time and tide.
No an edge or a cliff. The bottom of a hole he and his ilk dug
The $60B already pi$$ed away in Ukraine would have built and manned 2 new Ford class carrier battle groups for years. All Xi needs to do is swap materiel for discounted sanctioned oil. Putin is rolling in Petro rubles, China is buying all the oil Russia cares to export at 30% discount while we pay $5 gallon. China has already watched the US stumble into the Eastern European quagmire. Xi will arm Russia for oil. We will borrow to compete in the new European arms race as we subsidize new dead beat “allies”, Ukraine, Finland and Sweden. DC at its best.
The foolish leaders of NATO puffed up Zee as some kind of world hero and now they are stuck with their own Ukrainian Frankenstein’s Monster that they and they alone created. Irony if there ever was. Too bad so many had to die to stroke this grifter’s ego.
