The Biden Entity is ideologically committed to the second option. Anything they propose as a solution will make things worse. At this point, avoiding an all-out nuclear exchange is a win.

After the Battle of Stalingrad in WW2, the Russians knew they were going to win and the Germans knew they were going to lose.

After the Battle of Mariupol, the Russians knew they were going to win and the Ukrainians knew they were going to lose.

The losing side fights for negotiations and the winning side fights for victory. There will be no Minsk III.
