Gas prices too high? It’s all part of Biden’s plan to eliminate fossil fuels
NY Post ^ | June 13, 2022 | Betsy McCaughey

If you think gas prices are high now, just wait. They’re going much higher, thanks to President Biden’s “irreversible” plan to eliminate fossil fuels. Truth is, your pain at the pump is being planned and executed by the White House.

Over the weekend, buyers paid $5 a gallon or roughly $100 bucks to fill the tank.

Gas prices have doubled since Biden took office. J.P. Morgan analysts predict $6 a gallon by August. And experts warn this crisis will continue even after Biden’s term ends because he’s dismantling fossil fuel production.

When Biden was running for president, he promised to shut down oil producers: “No ability for the oil industry to continue to drill, period.” He pledged to put the country on “an irreversible” path toward “doing away with” fossil fuels.

On Day One as president, Biden shut down the Keystone pipeline, sending a message of no new pipelines anywhere, period.

In the months that followed, he stopped all sales of leases to drill on federal lands or offshore, meaning zero new leases allowing oil to be brought out of the ground.

And in September, House Democrats introduced legislation to stop banks from lending money or investing capital for new or expanded fossil fuel production. That legislation hasn’t passed, but it sent a clear message. The oil industry is being shut down.

$10 before Labor Day.

That would make a trip to town $30 for me. A lot of people here would be paying $150 a week to commute to their jobs. Rural.

I saw a headline yesterday about states out west that are
pushing back against CornPop’s desire to have charging
stations all over the place. Apparently the infrastructure
required just isn’t feasible or something like that.

***********

They have a ways to go before electric transportation is the
rule of the day. Charging stations is one thing but the other
is time. You can fill up a vehicle in 20 minutes or so with
gasoline. But that won’t be the case with Electric vehicles
as it takes time to recharge the batteries to capacity.

I mean, he flat out said he'd do it it during the election. And wouldn't care who it hurt.

You must have huge fuel tanks if it takes 20 minutes to fill them.😳

What about all the products made from Oil, you going to get rid of them also, only 60% of Oil goes for Gasoline, the rest for other products, like plastics.

Our economy is a petroleum based economy. It has been since post WWII. Charging $20 per gallon for fuel is not going to change that.

Really? You state as facts. Are you a petroleum expert or economist?

USA may be petro-based, but many predict we will be near 3rd world if energy prices continue to rise unchecked.

Many business models are structured on low cost energy—diesel, gasoline, nat. gas. They cannot continue to participate in the economy if prices continue to rise unchecked. Same for commuters.

Some truckers have stated they cannot afford to stay in business if diesel goes past $7-$8, and many people cannot afford $10 gas—let alone $20./gallon gas to get to work, provide deliveries, etc.

Can it really be a petroleum based economy if no one can afford petroleum?

Nope, just a little time, fill the tank, get a drink, use the
bathroom, etc. etc.

EV isn’t the major solution but it has some uses for sure.
We,re not going back to the horse/buggy, paddle boats, etc
but change is going to happen, good or bad. I’ll not be
around to see it but wish I could be. Take care.

We’re not going to stop buying gasoline. It is a necessity that takes priority. We will only reduce spending on luxuries which will keep destroying the economy in its own way.

What about people who cannot even afford luxuries...Some people’s budgets are so tight, they really cannot afford gas and food at current levels?

I don’t know the demographic groups, but there are many people who were just getting by before gas doubled and food prices soared.

Where do they think all the nice things come from?

It is very disappointing that the elites think things just... Come from the store?
