The House passed a sweeping gun package on Wednesday in response to last month’s mass shootings in Buffalo, N.Y. and Uvalde, Texas, which killed more than 30 people and reignited the push for firearm legislation on Capitol Hill.
The package, dubbed the Protecting Our Kids Act, passed in a 223-204 vote. One Republican did not vote.
Two Democrats, Reps. Jared Golden (Maine) and Kurt Schrader (Ore.), bucked the party in opposing the measure. Five Republicans — Reps. Adam Kinzinger (Ill.), Anthony Gonzalez (Ohio), Brian Fitzpatrick (Pa.), Chris Jacobs (N.Y.) and Fred Upton (Mich.) — supported it.

Not one syllable about hardening the school buildings. Ever wonder why so few shootings take place at banks? Banks are somewhat hardened, often have armed guards and hold things worth protecting.
Why not build schools like banks?
It’s a Right given by God and can’t be removed by Godless demonrats.
Likely for CCW.
Only a God given right if we utilize to shut the tyrants down.
Grandstanding in the midterms. Look at us !
raise the age to buy a weapon to 21 ? //////
Then raise the voting age to 21.
Too immature to carry, too imature to vote.
Don’t be so sure.
More and more people are sensing these incidents are orchestrated.
The investigation of where/how the Uvalde shooter got the $1500 to buy the weapons, and chatter says the probes are bearing fruit.
So if that’s a valid thesis, it would follow that horrific incidents might die down.
Let’s pray that SCOTUS kicks these gun grabbers in the teeth before they’re assassinated by the Left’s lunatics.
I know where my mags will fit.
Ha! Never underestimate the GOPe cowards.
You may be surprised. And not in a good way.
While I agree with you, this Leftist governance will use any
excuse whatsoever to refuse you ANY gun ownership.
If they catch you in a small infraction, you’ll be looking
at your gun rights in the rear view mirror.
That’s what is so onerous about the move in this direction.
They are looking to force people into breaking small
infractions, so they can accomplish their goals.
There is an observation out there that states and the
federal government are making felons of any sane gun
owner, by continually changing the rules.
You would not be srong, ChicagoConservative27.
It’s a srap sandwich, for sure.
I’ve heard $5k, with the optics and stuff. Not counting ammo...
If it passes, states will challenge it fiercely.
I look forward to the passage of the
Get Donut Shop Cops Out Of The Way Of Parents Who Want To Save Their Children’s Lives Act.
FACT: Guns prevent an estimated 2.5 million crimes a year or 6,849 every day. 98+% of the time the gun is not fired and no blood (including the criminal’s) is shed.

10 of them? zero chance.
You’ll notice the word “civilian” in there?
A reminder for everyone:
“The most foolish mistake we could possibly make would be to allow the subject races to possess arms.
History shows that all conquerors who have allowed their subject races to carry arms have prepared their own downfall by so doing.”
Adolph Hitler
“Before a standing army can rule, the people must be disarmed; as they are in almost every kingdom in Europe.”
“The supreme power in America cannot enforce unjust laws by the sword; because the whole body of the people are armed, and constitute a force superior to any band of regular troops that can be, on any pretence, raised in the United States.

Warden, is your jail secure?
I’m proud to say it is. And I did it without violating Amendment II.
Yes they are. Just talked to a good friend of mine. He told me this right out.
