Former President Trump and two of his adult children are scheduled to sit for depositions on July 15 in a probe by the attorney general of New York into Trump’s business dealings, according to a court filing Wednesday.
New York Attorney General Letitia James (D) and lawyers for Trump, Donald Trump Jr. and Ivanka Trump reached an agreement that will allow the former president time to appeal if he wishes to. The Trumps have until Monday to ask the state’s Court of Appeals to hear the case.

We have moved from a Republic to an Empire, just as the Roman Republic became the Roman Empire. During the Empire, Emperors were constantly being installed with rigged selections and were constantly deposed through assassinations. Consider the last 60 years

Prior Nixon’s 1974 resignation, just before there could be an impeachment vote in the House, the Republic had endured nearly 180 years with only one impeachment. Counting Nixon there have been 4 in the last 50 years. Excluding Nixon there have been 3 in the last 25 years.
One of the things that made America great was the tradition of peaceful transfer of power, beginning with John Adams handing the presidency over to Thomas Jefferson in 1800. At that time Jefferson and Adams hated each other. Until the Clinton to Bush transition, when some of the White House office equipment was intentionally damaged by the outgoing team, American political transitions were noted for their dignity and professionalism no matter how much the incoming and outgoing presidents personally despised each other or how deep the political divide in the country.
We have now entered a period of political nuclear warfare, not unlike the Roman Empire, where transitions are politically bloody if not deadly. There are no gentlemen and ladies in politics anymore.
New York Attorney General Letitia James (D) ran on getting Trump. She will fail yet again.
