Russia Will Create New Financial System, Putin Claims

Russia’s president, calling the 2020s a period of “strengthening economic sovereignty” for his country, has said that this decade will see the formation of an independent and efficient financial system in Russia. In an advance greeting to the participants of the upcoming St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Vladimir Putin also blamed “a wave of global inflation” and “a sharp increase in poverty and food shortages” on “long-term mistakes” made by Western countries as well as the imposition of “illegitimate sanctions.”

...

“I am convinced that for Russia the 2020s will become a period of strengthening economic sovereignty, which provides for the accelerated development of its own infrastructure and technological base, a qualitative increase in the level of training of specialists, as well as the formation of an independent and efficient financial system,” Mr. Putin said in the statement, which was published on the websites of both the forum and the Kremlin.

No, he is not. Among others, Putin can speak in coherent sentences, doesn’t need an Easter bunny to help him find his way, and will protect his country’s borders.

There’s the ‘crack’ the NYT will point to in 6 months to claim they were ‘ahead of the story’.

See conservative treehouse, starting about 4 months ago.

If this ends their chronic capital flight and improves domestic investment then this is likely a good thing. I wish them luck. I doubt they will succeed in this given their gross social/psychological defects, and the likelihood that all this is just propaganda, but whatever.

He’s referring to the BRICS nations (Brazil Russia India China & South Africa who have been negotiating in talks to trade amongst themselves in their currencies, but their money has to be backed by gold. This has been ongoing for months, but I guess you all have not been paying attention.

That’s true.

I challenge the Putin haters to show how Putin is more dangerous to the world than Soros, Klaus Schwab of the World Economic forum, Joe Biden and his puppet masters, including Obama, the UN, China, Iran, Bill Gates, and all the other Globalists.

Americans need to stop listening to the lies of the Leftists in America.

The Russians lost over a million people defending Stalingrad against the German Army.

They lost over 100,000 men taking Berlin in that war.

They DID take Berlin.

Look what happened to Napoleon’s army trying to take Russia.

Russia has been around much longer than the USA and they are tough people and they don’t quit.

They have the largest gold reserves in the world and are not just printing money to stay afloat like the Federal Reserve.

Western Europe MUST HAVE commodities Russia holds.

Boycotting Russian grain and fossil fuels is suicidal for Western Europe.

Russia can sit back and let Europe starve and freeze itself to death.

Putin is no choir boy but at least he has coherent objectives he has consistently restated and has the full support of his people.

You can’t say that about the mental defective pretending to be president of the United States

Jeez. Dude, quantify your claims.

The EU is self sufficient in food. Yes.

The EU has plenty of electric generation capacity (some of which is currently mothballed or underutilized) to replace Russian natural gas with a bunch of alternatives. It will take a year to three years, but it will happen.
Petroleum is a global, fungible commodity. The EU can boycott Russian petroleum and the market will adjust.
And that is the answer to all of your statements. Global markets will adjust, the global trading system and (more or less) free markets will work around any issues.

That is because SUPPLY of anything is not a long term problem. The real economic limit in the long term is DEMAND.

Russia can go be a hermit kingdom if it likes, the world will adjust.

Yeah, the Soviet Union could mobilize a lot of men, and force the nation to take crippling losses, by implementing the most severe totalitarian regime in history.

Russia of 1905 or 1917 couldnt do that, neither could the Soviet Union of 1989. Russia of 2022 can’t either.

And that extremity of totalitarianism is nowhere near the reality of modern Russia, and its questionable that with modern tech it is even possible.

The BRICS were actually started years ago in a slow way. Then when Trump was elected they stopped their meetings. And when Biden was elected they resumed them and are now seriously working on details and agreements.

What I found interesting is that apparently the “threat” in their opinion disappeared under Trump. But, then Trump has never been in favor of one world government...the new world order.

That’s correct, since 2006. But it hasn’t really been a threat until recently. Now that they have had 16 years to hammer out details, it is a real threat to the dollar being the world currency for trade. When the dollar is dethroned, we will feel massive pain. Pain that this nation has never had to bear in its existence as a nation. It will make the great depression look like a recession in comparison.
