DONETSK OBLAST, Ukraine — The ambulances hurtled into the parking lot one after the other, each carrying wounded troops directly from the nearby front line. One young man stared straight ahead, his face swollen, his neck and back dripping with blood. Others lay silently under foil blankets.
Some stumbled out the back doors and collapsed into wheelchairs as staff rushed to push them inside. Nearby, bloodied cots sat propped against a tent and other wounded soldiers lingered about, their faces grim, their heads, arms or legs bandaged as the sound of outgoing artillery boomed across the sky.
About 10 wounded soldiers arrived at this hospital in eastern Ukraine in less than an hour Sunday morning — the latest military casualties as Ukraine forces, outgunned by Russia in the country’s east, continue to lose territory at a critical moment in the war.
Soldiers also helped one civilian woman with leg wounds out of a military ambulance.
The Washington Post is withholding the name and precise location of the hospital out of concerns from staff that it could be targeted by Russian forces.
“Seventy people from my battalion were injured in the last week,” said a soldier and ambulance driver just outside the hospital gates who identified himself only as Vlad, 29. “I lost too many friends; it’s hard for me. I don’t know how many. ... It’s getting worse every day.”
The night before, he said, the shelling was so loud he hardly got any sleep. “It’s all artillery bombing down,” he said. “All the wounded are coming from shrapnel. Most guys in the trenches haven’t even seen the enemy face-to-face.”

They will soon, and collapse.
“They’re just raining down metal on us,” Lapa said. Nearby, a 25-year-old with his head wrapped in a bandage puffed on a cigarette. He goes by Koleh and had recently hit a mine, he said, although he didn’t know how exactly he ended up wounded.
Sievierodonetsk, he added, “is the worst.”
Are we *selling* them arms? Or are we just giving them away for free? Plenty of wealthy people in Ukraine who could fund their own defense.
The US taxpayer is providing them free of charge.
Now that the Western mass media and politicians have led the Ukraine people to slaughter they have decided to admit it was a hopeless cause.
Too little, too late.
“You’ve reached the wrong # - call Europe.”
The Democrats must have done some really awful stuff in Ukraine.
The US deep-state and neocons have been planning, probing and goading for this war for the last 20 years.
A story on the FR said a third of the armaments sent to the Ukraine were already on the black market in Croatia. It’s like the situation in Palestine; Arafat didn’t make millions by selling his memoirs.
There is no US MLRS coming.
And the 98 M-777 tubes are likely not on the eastern front. Though they may not mean much facing over 1,000 tubes from Russia.
Ukraine had 43 years to prepare for war. Not only did they stupidly give up nuclear weapons, they then wasted those 43 years and let their military atrophy.
Ukraine is selling its wheat to pay for weapons.
Frankly, with all the support that the same people who want to infringe on our rights seem hell bent on supporting Ukraine, I have to say that I really don’t give a rip about what is happening there.
BIDEN.
Even if he is a senile old fool, the buck stops there.
In retrospect, a war we should have never gotten involved with. Eventually Russian control of Ukraine will ultimately collapse at some point when the political winds shift. Poland did it peacefully; the Ukrainians can do the same once Putin is gone.
The Deep State is not a reliable ally except to the narrative. Sorry for the dead, etc, but we needed to protect a few lies.
The $40 billion was approved.
Time for narrative shift.
I think most western Ukranians would rather die than rejoin the Soviet Union.
It’s likely the west will be spared this carnage.
