There were two resource officers on campus during the Sandy Hooks shooting. Having a gun and a badge doesn't make you superman. What they need to to really promote the Texas law that allows teachers and staff to carry weapons after they have the special training. My district does this, and they have periodic drills to maintain their proficiency.
Whoever that is, they kind of have the Richard Ramirez look.

When was the last mass killing event in a British school full of minors? Dunblane in 1996?

In our town, the schools locked their doors.
When doors were open for kids to arrive and depart, police officers were present.

I think some of these freaks are emboldened by the 24/7 media coverage of these horrors at schools, etc. Buffalo last week...
