The San Francisco Examiner's editorial board wrote a scathing rebuke of the city’s archbishop, Salvatore Cordileone, after he announced he would deny Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., Holy Communion, over her staunch support for abortion.
(Snip)
In response, the liberal editorial board blasted the Catholic leader for "punishing" Pelosi, instead of "right-wing politicians" who "[vote] against health care or funding for the poor."
They defended Pelosi as a leader who has "consistently fought on the morally right side of these issues," and praised her as a role model for women..
The editorial board argued that by denying Pelosi Holy Communion, the archbishop wasn’t being loyal to Christ.

What the hell does the editorial board of the SF Examiner know about being loyal to Christ, WHAT A DAMN JOKE!!!
I expected this even earlier. For most Progressives or Socialists, their Leader ‘cannot be wrong’ and dissent must be snuffed out by any and all means necessary.
A Hive mentality.
I’m holding my breath to see if Francis does it.
"L'Osservatore Romano di San Francisco"
The pope needs to decide whether to obey the SF Examiner or Jesus. Hopefully he will make the right choice.
I have a response to them the archbishop won’t say...GFY.
The archcbishop is doing his job as a priest to call those in mortal sin to repentence. Barring her from communion is also for her own good, so she does partake of the sacrament unworthily, and to her judgement and condemnation. If she would listen to him, she would thank him in the long run.
If you have the time, I’d suggest you go back and read the writings of Pope Leo XIII and Pope Pius X (https://www.papalencyclicals.net/). They nailed it with the situation in the Church these days. I recommend Pius X, Pascendi (On the doctrine of the Modernists) as being particularly apt.
Not hopeful myself, but I’m comforted in knowing that the Church survived the Borgias. If She was able to do that, She’ll survive this.
I’ve been Catholic since birth-I think this pope is an apostate-he’s not the 1st-there have been other popes who were deemed heretics and removed, but not in a very long time-I hope the cardinals will re-visit that process with this one-i want pope Benedict back-he is a real spiritual leader-not a political pawn...
I’ll take that bet, payable to FR as a donation. I believe he will still be there in one month.
Editorial board lacks standing. Dismissed.
What’s “nonsense?”
You *do* know that italicized text is a quote from the article and not my opinion, right?
Or are you defending Pelosi?
The Borgias may have been morally corrupt, but they didn’t mess with doctrine.
Bwahahahaha
They think they’re important
Arrogant a$$holes.
(But then this pop may be persuaded.)
Amen!
If the San Francisco Examiner wants to start their own religion, they’re welcome to do it.
Satan’s mouthpiece says the Pope must go.
pop or pope, whatever, (split coffe on my “e’” key).
