REPLY: I have warned that Putin is a reasonable man. The hatred the Neocons keep painting him with is not just unfair, it is a strategic ploy to DEMONIZE your opponent to justify your own position. They used that same tactic against Trump.
I have tried to explain that Putin is the ONLY rational world leader today. I have warned that if you remove Putin, you will be shocked at what stands behind him. Putin has been called “weak” behind the scenes in Russia because he has been too soft on Ukraine.
All the comments about attacking Finland and Sweden are from the second tier — not Putin. Even in Ukraine, Putin made NO effort to conquer the country. The first thing you do is take out the power grid, the communications, and then the water supply. The US did that by invading Iraq. That is STANDARD operating warfare tactics. The fact Putin did not do that showed he was only interested in liberating the Donbas, which is predominantly Russia. Ukraine has been putting
out nothing but propaganda. Even the so-called Bucha massacre has come with allegations. There is NOT one photo showing all these slaughtered dead bodies. I have friends in Donbas as well as Kyiv. If you dared to bring a bottle of Russian vodka for dinner with a Western Ukrainian, it is a serious insult. The sheer hatred there is unimaginable. It is on par with the hatred that had existed in Ireland between North and South.
I am warning you, take Putin out, and you will peel back the onion and find the Russian Neocons who hate the American Neocons on an equal footing. I fear that you will see that Putin will not be there for the 2024 election. Who takes charge after 2024 may very well use nuclear weapons and irradicate Kyiv. Putin is nostalgic about Kiev (Russian Spelling) and regards it as the first capital of the Russ – origin of Russians. Putin will not flatten Ukraine. The second tier would not think twice.

After the sinking of the Lusitania, Sen. Robert La Follette claimed that the ship had actually been carrying large amounts of ammunition for the UK govt. The US & UK govts claimed this was false-even though both knew it wasn’t-& their respective medias dutifully repeated the lie.
A campaign (ultimately unsuccessful) was launched to remove La Follette from the Senate, & a big part of their charges was that he’d been spreading what would in today’s Orwellian lingo be called misinformation.
Just a few years after the war ended, a New York customs official claimed the ship had in fact been carrying a large amount of ammo. Divers on the wreck in 2008 proved the customs official & La Follette were correct, & that the US & UK govts & press had knowingly lied at the time
Think about that: The US & UK govts & media lied about the Lusitania (& not just in regard to the ammunition, btw) & the 1 guy in Congress who told the truth about it was nearly impeached for supposedly spreading “misinformation.”
Do you really think this willingness of govt & media to lie during wartime, & to demonize & try to silence & destroy those who tell the truth, has magically stopped sometime in the last 100 yrs???
Or do you think it’s more likely that their willingness to lie & to try to silence & destroy those who speak the truth (& their skill & sophistication at doing both) has massively INCREASED over the last 107 years???
PS - The large amount of ammunition stashed in the Lusitania’s cargo holds DRASTICALLY increased the number of passenger casualties, because of 1) all the secondary explosions of the ammo touching off & 2) it caused the ship to sink a lot faster than it otherwise would’ve.

This is what I have been afraid of...Putin is a “known” and whoever replaces him and his regime is an “unknown”. Who would you rather have in power at this time? Putin is not a good person at all but he can be worked with maybe.

Just the public statements put out by other Russians, especially former president Dmitry Medvedev, points to the war ending far sooner, with Ukraine being LEVELED by Russia, should any of them gain power.
The Alinsky Tactic of ‘isolating’ a ‘bad guy’ may play well with Democrats and Neocons, but they sure better hope it isn’t successful, at least regarding this war.
A real WAR between Russia and Ukraine would last 72 hours or less. The ONLY reason this operation is lasting any longer than that is that Russians are taking extreme care not to harm civilians or civilian ifrastructure. That should be obvious.
NAZIS, of course, do not have any such scruples. A totally reasonable assumption is that any sort of evidence of wanton killing and destruction you may be seeing in news from Ukraine, is the work of the bandera-Nazis and not the work of the Russian military.
This is more like a rescue mission, since Russians still generally view typical Ukrainians as fellow Slavic Orthodox Christians.

Americans are completely brainwashed about Putin/Russia. Fortunately it won’t really matter in the end. No one is taking Putin out.
While it is true that Putin has over all approval by the Russians and that the criticism of him that does exist is based on his supposed “softness,” that criticism is based on the West fueled narrative the Russia is losing or that the “war” is at a stale mate. And it is false. The only reason it exists is that the West is so successful at controlling information.
The facts on the ground are a different matter. Putin/Russia has won the economic war the West instigated to “weaken Russia” and it is slowly, but surely winning the military war, too.
The Ukrainians have suffered massive losses in manpower (Russia loses single digits per day; Ukraine is losing 400-700 per day) and weapons and are now openly admitting they are in a holding pattern hoping to hang on until July/August when more heavy equipment and more money is scheduled to come from the West. Zelensky says it will then go “on the offense.”
Since they have already had their 4th mobilization and literally can no longer find troops and since Russia gains territory on a daily basis I think you can put Zelensky’s stated plan for the future in the category of “wishful thinking.”
Alternatively, the reason the war is prolonged is that Russia lacks a military capable of obtaining the set out objectives. The Russian separatist regions in east Ukraine are not yet completely decided and may in fact be all that Putin is actually interested in.
Europe has decided it’s OK to side with Ukraine. The consensus is that supplying Ukraine troops with weapons is in fact the way forward to eliminate the perceived Russian menace for a while. The oil and gas reliance on Russia is apparently doomed as other sources are being contracted.
Then there is America. It seems apparent that the American military believes assisting Ukraine with weapons degrades Russia. The congress apparently determined that the gift of $40 billion was required to fill some unstated Ukrainian need.
So, in final analysis, “the West” has determined that the destruction of Russia via economy wrecking sanctions and via the strengthened Ukranian military is acceptable and timely historical course of action

Whether with Putin or a successor, Russia lacks the military age population, weapons and equipment, economic strength, and popular support to mobilize for war against Ukraine. If Russia tried, the economic, political, and social stresses would risk resistance, mass protests, and an overthrow of the regime.
That’s a lot of fantasy about “the West”. You are talking about the Biden administration with Lloyd Vader running the DOD and an unhinged Democrat Congress. No such analysis as you describe is occurring.
You fail to consider that europe has assumed control of the Ukranian situation
Just responding to your posits about “the West” where you mention the $40B and Congress.
Europe’s response is, I believe, NATO, and that may be its own problem.
The Russians are executing this war in a professional manner.
