Doctors would be forced to address patients in French
With limited exceptions, Bill 96 requires doctors to address their patients in French, even in situations where both doctor and patient would better understand each other in another language. Certain bilingual institutions, such as the Jewish General Hospital, are exempt. As are patients who can prove that they’ve attended an English-language school in Canada, or immigrants who have arrived in Quebec within the last six months. But for everyone else, everything from cancer diagnoses to Alzheimer’s treatment must be performed in French.

The last time Quebec embarked on a stupid xenophobic crusade like this was the early 1990s. Between the late 1970s and the late 1990s they ended up chasing many iconic Canadian company headquarters out of Montreal to other major Canadian cities.

*When dealing with individuals, I have found usually when someone is overly proud, excessively prone to bragging, that means they are covering up something that shames them in a profound and disabling manner. The Quebecers are very insecure about something that does not change.
Too bad for any tourists who get sick who don’t speak French. Montreal has a lot of English-speaking residents and probably not all of them are bilingual. I guess they’ll have to drive to Ottawa for medical care.

Trudeau is fluent in French, but not really at the native level. He stumbles in French and makes too many mistakes. But his accent is pretty good.
