The United States has hit a grim milestone: 1 million COVID-19 deaths. During the past two years the virus has posed a deadly risk, but it hasn’t affected every person the same way. The pandemic has highlighted inequalities that have already existed -- and exposed new disparities between age, race and political affiliation.
According to December 2021 data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, an unvaccinated person was 53 times more likely to die of a COVID-19-associated illness compared to a fully vaccinated person with a booster dose.
Native Americans are over 2.5 times more likely to die of COVID compared to white Americans, according to the CDC data, which also showed that African-Americans are more than 1.5 times more likely, and Hispanic Americans 1.1 times more likely.

I am looking at the linked report...and I can’t see how it supports that figure yet. From what I’ve seen so far it simply doesn’t.
I suspect they came to this conclusion in the same way they have arrived at all their conclusions.

Like the number of deaths attributed to Covid, as well as, the data presented here bares little reliability as being factual. Just renewed attempts of pushing the ineffective jab.
The racial stats conveniently omit Asians. Obesity and related issues like diabetes and high blood pressure are strongly associated with Covid morbidity, and blacks and Hispanics probably have higher rates of those than whites and - especially - Asians. As for Native Americans, I thought they had high vaccination rates, but I could be wrong. At any rate, alcoholism and other health issues are probably high in that group.
Anybody who believes a word of this drivel probably already got the death jabs and is ready for their 3rd or 4th booster.

The article says a major reason the poor got sicker was they don’t have Internet access or email accounts to sign up for vaccination. We need a new Federal Program for that.
You can just hear the complaining if the medical authorities had NOT done vax reservations on line...”You are making our people take off from work to go sign up in person. They don’t have cars and have to use the dangerous public transportation. This is racist!”

ABC's "grim" news ignores the general fact that about one percent of a first-world nation dies off each tear, or in the case of the US more than three million each year. When placed in a correct frame, Covid has been a con.
