Long Island Republican Rep. Lee Zeldin is the latest member of New York’s Congressional delegation to demand the Biden administration invoke emergency measures to address the growing crisis of the shortage in baby formula across the country.
“President Biden must invoke the Defense Production Act to reverse the US shortage on baby formula,” Zeldin, who represents eastern Long Island, tweeted Saturday.
Zeldin’s tweet came a day after Senator Kirsten Gillibrand told a radio program the infant formula shortage “is a life or death issue” and said she also planned to ask Biden to invoke the 1950 law that authorizes the president to order companies to produce goods or products in a national emergency.
New York Democratic Rep. Carolyn Maloney, who is chair to the House Oversight Committee, is demanding more information about the shortage from four major producers of baby formula across the country, as the FDA announced plans to allow baby formula imports last week.

Alternatively, the RATS could stop shipping it to the illegals at the border. But that would make too much sense.
Lift the tariffs on Canadian formula.
Oh. NOW they care about babies?
Eff you!!
Tell Biden there will be a pudding shortage, and he’ll get right on it.
Don’t know if the prices are good, but castro junior’s paradise seems to have it in stock:
Gas too.
When Trump was president we had plenty of baby formula and cheap gas.
How long we gonna put up with this shit?
Do not the Democrats in New York understand that illegal immigrants come before American citizens every time? What are they thinking?
I wonder if they got it from Biden? 😀
stop giving to all the (expletive deletedd) illegal morons who dezerve nothiing!!
C’mon man…rats want to kill babies, not save them…
then, find the federal government folks who made the decision to give to them, and shoot them as traitors.
There are only 4 plants in this country and at least one has been closed by the FDA, so who will manufacture it???????/

Where has this happened before in history?
Europe has tons to sell. The FDA just doesn't allow it to be imported.
No. Stay the f*** out of it. If the Fed starts micromanaging formula it will disappear completely.
Every bit for use here should be produced here. It should be available for every mother who wants/needs it for their baby...independent of demographics.
We had plenty of everything. When pandemic panic struck, everyone aimed for the toilet paper aisle. Amusing...
The toilet paper shortage was not a normal type shortage. It was not caused only by hoarding. Before the Covid shutdown of “non-essential” businesses, about half of toilet paper was manufactured for commercial enterprises. The huge -18” diameter rolls and large containers of overlapping individually folded paper, etc. were no longer being ordered by restaurants, gyms, etc. Factories making these did not know how long the shut down would last and so did not retool immediately.
Too bad we did not reopen everything after the 5 weeks of “flatten the curve” and “slow the spread”
