On Friday’s broadcast of HBO’s “Real Time,” host Bill Maher argued that Democrats have moved away from their former position of “safe, legal, and rare” on abortion and argued that “No one should be pro-abortion.”
Maher began by stating that due to polarization on the issue there will be a division among states like before the Civil War and there will be some states “where you’re a free woman” and others “where it’s a Dred Scott situation.” And “a lot of these states, it’s going to be a race to the bottom to see who can get the harshest treatment or give out the harshest treatment.”

“Safe, legal and rare” is now “...and we can kill the baby even after its born.”
Oh, bless that wonderful man! He’s a wonderful champion for the babies. *cries*
Just kidding.
Well, considering some of the teenage animals out there, maybe parents should be given life or death control over their spawn.
The race to the bottom will be those ‘blue’ states that will continue the horrible practice of abortion.
Have they ever been ‘there’?
It’s just another lie they told to nudge the herd of fools and sucker the moderates.
70 million little bodies says they’ve never been there.
Language like “before the Civil War” and “Dred Scott situation” is poorly chosen.
No one is going to send an army to invade a state like South Carolina because the voters in South Carolina have passed an abortion law which displeases another state.
Legal abortion will never be rare because teen sex and sleeping around will never be rare.
Maher began by stating that due to polarization on the issue there will be a division among states
“A nation divided cannot stand..................it will be all one or all the other.”
You can bet the farm they know who leaked now. I am willing to bet Roberts will keep a lid on the info as long as there’s a chance ha can flip a judge and save RVW
If it’s legal, there is no way to insure that it will be “rare”.
Teen sex and sleeping around were far more rare in the past than they are now.
I bet his finger is in the air. He senses a major change in the wind direction and wants to stay relevant to keep those Bens rolling in.
Hey Bill, we’ve had a “Dred Scott” situation since 1973.
Further, while the median age group for abortions has stayed constant (24-29 year old women) from 2009-2018, the distribution has shifted. Since 2009 there's been a demographic shift with a greater proportion of abortions being performed on older women and less on younger women, is the 30+ group accounts for a third of all abortions in 2018 vs 27% in 2009.
Finally, while whites account for the plurality of abortions, the abortion rate is highest for blacks. Separately, about 15% of abortions are performed on unmarried women.
Don’t really like this guy but the Overton window has moved so far left he’s actually sounding rational on some issues.
My grandparents eloped while they were still in high school and living with their parents and didn’t tell them til long after. We joked they couldn’t wait. And likely didn’t but they did make it legal.
Mankind was never intended to become canibals.
Follow the money. Baby parts are used in research and other medical products. This Nation needs to have “supply-chain” discussion on how the abortion material is used for research and products. Hollywood and the rich drink and eat products with baby parts in it to live longer.
The Gov of Florida needs to publish “From the Womb to the Customers” and show the world how the Abortion Industry is really just providing babies the way farms product chickens, pigs, etc., and they have willing women to participate in this whole”$ale” slaugthering.
Baby parts end up in university research and other “for sale” products - if there was no market for the proceeds of abortion, there would be no abortion industry.
Back in the day, “premarital sex” meant that engaged couples jumped the gun.
Sure, abstinence was not 100%, but it was a general goal. Now girls and women think they should emulate male sexual behavior. I don’t think that the negative consequences of that development for females, for children, and for society is even open for debate.
