New homes built in California starting in 2026 need to be powered by all-electric furnaces, stoves and other appliances if California is to meet its ambitious climate change goals over the next two decades, according to a state pollution-reduction plan released Tuesday.

Certain parts of CA just need to fall into the ocean. It’s a good time for the Lord to make his presence known to the fine people of CA.
As if their power grid is just bursting with excess juice.
At least they can’t use gas for the chambers..?
Yep, rolling blackouts coming to CA.
So, what’s the plan....skateboards.??
Anyone remember the rolling blackouts during the Gray Davis era? I’m sure this initiative will solve that....
I like induction cooking. As for normal electric coils,
no thanks.
As for gas, these people are in need of medical attention.
Hobble the United States while other nations do anything
they like, with no one complaining.
I was just going to post the same comment. Maybe liberalism is a mental disorder.
Reason for the plan: Nearly all of these mandatory electric appliances will be manufactured in China. So we’ve got that going for us, which is nice. /s
I think they intentionally want to choke off the power grid so they can start rationing/limiting electrical power.
I have no doubt that what you post is at least part of the evil grand design.
What is going to generate said electricity?
All electric appliances combined with electric cars should work out well.
Maybe the Santa Ana winds will cause a fire by conductors clapping and then burn up solar arrays…fingers crossed…
There. Fixed it.
Their policies can be defined as sabotage.
‘Oh, there won’t be any money, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness.’ So I’ve got that going for me … which is nice.”
Yup. I had just sold my house in Mira Mesa (north San Diego) and was "camped" in an apartment inside the school district so my son could complete his senior year in high school. On graduation, he was off to USMC boot camp.
My setup in the apartment included a UPS, DSL modem with interface to a WiFi router. The DSL/WiFi was on the UPS. When the blackout hit, my laptop was fully charged and had connectivity via the WiFi. The rest of the apartment dwellers were milling about outside. The traffic lights were offline too, so big traffic jams happened quickly.
The house I sold in Mira Mesa had natural gas operated water heater, forced air furnace and clothes dryer. I left the dryer with the house as my new home in Idaho has a 220 VAC socket in the laundry room. The San Diego house was very thrifty in terms of electric use. I never installed an air conditioner as it was only necessary about 1 week earch year. Subsequent owners did install air conditioning. All electric would be a disaster.
Or drive your EV.
The ONLY way this will work is if they immediately expedite five 1,000 MW nuclear plants. Even then, they won’t come online until it is too late.
All the good wind sites are consumed with windmills already. They will be erecting the monstrosities at secondary and tertiary sites. Get ready for zero beautiful vistas in California. If you want to see the spectacular unspoiled California scenery, better go see it now before it is buried in windmills.
California’s grid access should be reconfigured to permit ONLY so-called “green” generated electricity into distribution.
