Will he change the drug laws

What are the drug laws in the Philippines?

Possession of even small amounts of any illicit drug in the Philippines attracts mandatory jail sentences. Police and other authorities have been publicly encouraged to kill suspected drug traffickers who resist arrest. Violating local laws may result in a jail sentence, served in a local prison. Sentences are severe.

To the Freeper who tagged “Japan” for this article, I have an update for you. BREAKING:

General Yamashita and Admiral Okochi formally surrendered their forces at Camp John Hay, Baguio to ranking officers of the U.S. Army, including General Jonathan Wainwright.

That is all.

The received wisdom there is that the “grey eminence”, and financier, behind this Marcos - Daughterte (popular play on words there) team is former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, currently Speaker of the House. She is universally acknowledged to be the sharpest cookie in Philippine politics, and commands a lot of money and general respect.

If she is indeed actually in charge its a hopeful sign that someone responsible will be running things. Her term saw the fastest economic growth in Philippine history.

“He and his mother are currently facing arrest in the United States and its territories for defying a court order to pay US$353 million in restitution to human rights abuse victims of his father’s dictatorship”
I wonder how that will work out in diplomatic visits
